Can someone explain just how a cuddling party works? How do you know who is cuddling who? How do the fee’s work? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks in advance!

They tell you at the party how it works. You can Google cuddle parties, and find out a lot of information as to how they work, as they're all basically run the same. Here's the list of cuddle party rules from cuddleparty.com

You go, you listen to the facilitator go over the rules, then they turn you loose to mingle. You cuddle with whoever agrees to cuddle you, and you don't have to cuddle anyone you don't want to. It's nice to meet other people who understand platonic cuddling. I always had a great time at cuddle parties.

I personally think I would love this!

@ubergigglefritz Oh I meant like a hotel get together which has been planned and failed on more than one occasion.

What do people wear to a cuddle party?

  • Anything comfortable, like t shirts, knee length shorts, leggings, things like that.

  • Same as a private cuddle session :-)

  • I would like to be involved in an LA Cuddle party if any of you put one together.

A cuddle party does not appeal to me at all. In fact, anything with the word 'party' in it sends me scurrying in the opposite direction. Maybe it's because I'm an introvert, but the idea of being with a group of complete strangers is very stressful for me. My first thought would be no-one is going to want to cuddle with me and I'll be the only one left alone. I would much prefer a one-to-one cuddle with someone I've already built a comfort level with.

  • @UKGuy I agree. It would like being the last one picked for a volleyball team in gym class. I could maybe do it if I had a friend to tag along with. Maybe.

@Tallman There was a cuddle party near me a month or two ago. I didn’t go, and have no idea how it went or whether it actually came to happen, but in their promotional material the said that everyone would arrive in street clothes, and all would go to changing rooms and put on pajamas. It didn’t sound like alternatives like sweats, yoga pants etc were in the mix. How many of us don’t even own a pair of pajamas?

  • @mickcuddle - Any comfortable, stretchy clothing is fine for a cuddle party.

@UKGuy -- same here! When a pro here recently claimed she "misunderstood" the purpose of our appointment, the first thought that still haunts me is that after seeing me (and accepting payment), she decided she didn't want to cuddle. Whether or not that is true, it still triggered my inherent insecurity. (Obviously it hurt, because I'm still talking about it.)

But I'm glad they exist and bring joy and comfort to others!

@UKGuy Me too! One on one cuddle sessions make me nervous but I'd much rather cuddle with someone I've already established trust with than a stranger - let alone a room full of them. I can't interact in such an intimate way with people I've just met. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if I went with a friend but I'd probably stick to them like glue and ruin the experience for them.

@Myrddyn I'm sorry to hear that happened to you ): Sounds awful. I hope you have better luck in the future :)

  • Unfortunately, it is true. Cuddle parties in general (from what I hear) are very accepting and everyone finds someone to cuddle with, but I have also heard about people feeling rejected or wanting to leave (one of the things to learn at cuddle parties is how to handle rejection better, but it is still hard, even for the most well adjusted person...). I know that the one I went to, the male/female ratio was off even more than usual, so even with cuddle sandwiches, there was always still one guy left over. This was quite the distraction for me, since I have a need to make sure everyone feels accepted and has a place to cuddle if they are looking for one. I would always prefer one-on-one cuddling, but I like going to the cuddle parties because I know I'm appreciated as someone who has few restrictions as to who I will cuddle with O:-)

@ubergigglefritz, as a procuddler I completely agree. I have few restrictions on who I'll cuddle with, and would totally also not be okay with leaving someone out. A cuddle sandwich sounds awesome!

  • I've never been to one but if some shy poor soul came to these my arms would be wide open fur snuggles! I'm willing to give anyone a chance if they can just try to behave a little, lol

  • <3 your comment :)

  • ❤️✌️

  • I attended a cuddle party in the SF Bay Area when the concept was brand new. The group did a number of things to ensure success for everyone:

    1) Only accepted an even number of people to ensure no one left over

    2) Started with “rejection” exercise to make sure everyone knew it was ok to say no and to get people comfortable with being told no

    3) Made very clear the rules on allowed and prohibited behavior

    It was an excellent event.

  • I thought it was like swinging, lol, and 10 in the bed!! lol!

  • Any cuddle parties on Long Island

Just saw an ad for one coming up in Aurora, IL (an hour west of Chicago). Not sure of the date or cost but you could find it if you search thru Meet-Up. Sounds like it is fairly structured and focussed on giving, granting and withholding permission.

  • @spooky Someone at the cuddle party I went to found it by searching online for swingers events. Strange.

  • I have been to cuddle parties and we did not have a problem with people being left out because the folks there were friends and everyone pretty much would cuddle with just about anyone. Often three or four or more of us where clustered together like kittens in a basket. It was lovely. It was a house party, not a public event, so the host knew everyone. I've had two cuddle parties at my apartment, we had about eight people, watched a movie. Piled on an air mattress on the floor and on the sofa. Unfortunately, no one has been having cuddling parties lately and my circumstances at home have not been conducive to doing it so that's how I ended up on this site.

  • The one in Northern Virginia this Saturday is probably going to get cancelled if more people don't register ASAP...

  • @Myrddyn That person obviously wasn’t a pro to treat you like that. It was not only hurtful and disrespectful but a disgrace to the Cuddle Community! If you are ever in the Gettysburg, Harrisburg area keep me in mind and I’d be happy to cuddle with you!

  • @Babichev I think this sounds like a fun evening! Did you have it for a certain amount of hours, a pajama party and how did you get your guests from your area? I would love to do this but how are you assured everyone behaves! A pajama, popcorn, movie Cuddle Party would be amazing! I really think I am going to do it. I’d love some tips about guests and things? Amount of time? Etc
