I am still new to the pro game. i had read an article about a year ago that was all about this new form of "therapy" i recently had to come to terms with a back issue that requires me to leave a job i love.....and for some reason, after a couple of months on medical leave, the professional cuddler thing popped into my head!
so far, i have had a very positive response from a number of my clients due to my professional approach, timely responses, etc. it was a bit challenging at first, boundaries, etc. I cannot do a job i do not love. It is extremely gratifying to be able to bring comfort to people who need it. I do not think of my clients so much as paying for my cuddles as my time, and time is valuable. Since they are paying for my time, i want to give them the very best i can. I want them to feel less stress, I want them to feel safe and relaxed. It is like, a spirit massage or something. Human contact is just very healing, and so many people do without it. It is also mentioned in the thread about it being a bit more cut and dry with a pro, which i am sure is what draws some people to the pro instead of a non-pro.
i am sorry it is so hard for people to find a cuddle buddy, but i do not think it is the fault of the pros. It is just about finding the pieces that fit, which is true in most aspects of life, really.
I really liked reading this! However, I want to make one point.
It is not your time that is valuable. To me, that treds too close to the terminology of escorts and "sugar dating." My time, in and of itself, is also of value, and I did not come here seeking someone to hang out with...I came here for cuddles.
It is your willingness to share that space and energy and professional ethics that make your time as a cuddler worthwhile.
I only write this because a pro I engaged here did not actually ever cuddle, and claimed she thought I was looking for company, even though we had specifically discussed cuddling. That was a VERY expensive lesson, and I just wanted to address the idea that clients are paying for time -- because as a client, I am NOT paying for time, I am paying for a specific, platonic, legal service.
@Myrddyn is correct. This is a cuddling community (and service when it comes to pros). There are other sites for people wanting to pay for or provide a friend to hang out with. I consider clients paying for my focus and attention WHILE cuddling. It's about connection, but a part of that is cuddling :-)
@Myrddyn @ubergigglefritz On the calculations of values , I have theorized that there is
Add the three and and you get your $80.00 , This would , could be for a one on one session . . I can’t assign yet a percentage to each . I do want to put out there that , take away the risk , price should go down .
Also : since the website owner likes an available pool of non pro female cuddlers, ( he said it above , it’s Right there posted in internet ink)and the stresses of pro cuddling , may exhaust the professional , I propose - new professionals sign on as pro for two year periods , with mandatory rotation back to non pro, for R and R , for periods of six months . This increases an amount of enthusiasts , for the community .
Hate to burst your bubble, but I think most pros charge $80 for the first hour because that's what most other pros charge. I don't know of anyone who assessed a value to risk and poked that into their price calculations. I don't see how you can place a value on your own safety. Perhaps in the billions of dollars, but you can't spend the money if you're dead.
That is an amount , I believe fashioned by the snuggle buddies . Also , there is a cost . It says right in the cuddlers contract “ a non lethal weapon is permissible to be carried” heck I can’t remember exactly what it says , and the mace or whatever is not handed out for free, at the gun store .( a disposable item , not sure of the shelf life , should be discarded at intervals , imagine having to use a four year old weapon and it won’t work due to age) I never assigned a percentage yet . Could be 0% for someone , more for those who never had a paid client, and don’t know what to expect .
I don’t see how someone can’t place a value on their safety
There are threads upon threads discussing why the prices are as they are. I stand behind mine. There are lots of reasons which can be read about in other threads. This thread asks why there are so many pros versus non-pros. I think it's simply because it comes across as easy money. It sounds like a high paid job and people think it would be easy. There are lots of pros, but there are also lots of people who don't stick around and also lots of "pros" who don't respond, aren't available, or don't offer the service offered. I know there are a decent amount of people who come on as a pro and leave before even seeing their first client. You have to love cuddling, love strangers, and be comfortable with weeding out the people who won't make good clients. Basically, a lot of people come in, but not a lot of people stick around. The problem is that there aren't enough people coming seeking free platonic cuddles. As someone who first signed up as an enthusiast, I will say that the problem is similar for non-pros as for pros. I could have easily been scared off within the first couple of days being on here. Unfortunately, your fellow males are ruining it for you ;-) ha.
@Myrddyn you are absolutely correct that the client's time is also valuable, which is why i want to give my very best to anyone who trusts in me to cuddle and comfort them. the exchange in energy is a tangible feeling!
it is unfortunate that there are pros out there that do not deliver on what is promised. i have heard a couple of sad stories in the short time i have been here. I think it is just as important for the pro to make sure the client feels assured that they will get the service they have paid for. I cannot imagine the frustration you must have felt leaving that situation.
@ ubergigglefritz You say there “ aren’t enough people coming here seeking free platonic cuddles” I don’t think so , I think there are lot seeking free platonic cuddles , that is evident by some discussions started , every now and then by an enthusiast who claims their mailbox is full of proposals, , an overwhelming amount , and they can’t keep up with responses . I think the thread starter here , came seeking a free platonic cuddle . Do you mean seeking “platonic” cuddles,? Where is that guy @respectful , and his statistics on just that . I don’t know the ratio of non platonic cuddlers/ verses platonic requests
Sorry. I meant there aren't enough women coming seeking cuddles for free (to meet the demands of men here seeking free cuddles).
I like non pros better
Oh
@izzyrold There are definitely pros and cons to each. Definitely a great thing if you can find a non-pro who will meet your needs and is interested as well Not everyone is so lucky. That's what pros are for O:-)
Wholesome, Heapings-of-love, Open, Resiliant, Ernest, and Sweethearts for putting up with your juvenile bullshit.
Wonderful, Healing, Optimistic, Really Accepting, Enriching, Sweethearts who don't have to put up with your juvinile BS.
WOW-sized hearts, Human, Original, Really Comfortable people to hang out with, Entertaining in their company, Sophisticated beyond your juvenile understanding.
I could go on.
Wonderful Human Outstanding Really kind-hearted Emotionally grounded Sweet enough to overlook the BS
The pros I have seen I would never ever have met in any other way. They are people that I think of fondly and often and my life has been enriched by meeting them.
As a Pro, it’s just like any other business so why should people call us greedy or money hungry? We provide a service.
You don’t call a masseuse greedy, and they’re touching all parts of you. People go there to feel less stressed, better, pampered and relaxed. Some people even tip their masseuse above the cost of the massage. I do exactly the same thing, for many people. Feel free to read my Karma.
Not only like a masseuse, as a cuddler I provide the exact same service and more because I talk with my clients. I let them vent and feel cared for and comforted.
Aw fudge!
Was hoping this was going to be a mega-tag-team match in a pro rasslin' ring.
Clickbait title.
I can't read this whole thing but I found a non-pro who was new in my area (hard to find for some reason) and she didn't reply to my message but created another account as a 'pro'... when I messaged her asking if she was actually interested in cuddles or just the money she said I was rude; yet, she didn't reply to the first message, so I don't consider her an actual enthusiast, just an opportunist.
I have no problem with professionals and maybe she made a mistake, but I would have considered her genuinely interested in what this site is about if she'd at least replied to my original message (ignoring it is rude if she only cares to answer the one about money), so I think some here have nefarious interests and she likely would have taken advantage of people (it seems she deleted the accounts).
@davebutton
She may have first created a non-pro account to check the place out. Or perhaps she was besieged by too many messages (as many female enthusiasts are). Or maybe she just changed her mind. That doesn’t mean that she isn’t interested in cuddling or that she is just interested in money; they aren’t mutually exclusive.
She may have ignored your first message because it was lost in her enthusiast mailbox. She may have replied as a pro because your message stood out more. Or because your second message, frankly, sounds rude. ??♀️
Regardless, I feel like you’re making a lot of jumps in your logic. (What kind of evidence is there that she has nefarious interests? Why would she have likely taken advantage of people?)
I’m curious as to what you messaged her, originally. Would you care to share?
Yeah, just because someone doesn't reply to you doesn't mean they aren't a genuine person with normal intent. And I don't blame her for calling you out on your rudeness when she did respond to you. I would have done the same.
I'll be honest this site so far has been highly disappointing, there seems to be WAY more pros than non pros. I have only had one real conversation with a non-pro. What I find frustrating is I have had the same pro contact me multiple times, which I think is highly inappropriate and should not be allowed. I don't think pros should be allowed to do that asking for money when it's unsolicited.
There is a nice and a rude way for pros to contact people. You shouldn't ban an action just because some people are rude. But I am a libertarian and err on the side of preserving freedom O:-) I have had plenty of people who were incredibly thankful I reached out to them...
ubergiggle - one time maybe - but more than once it's creepy. My view unless you messaged a pro first or list that you are looking for one in your bio, it's not appropriate to be messaging people saying hey please pay me. And that's exactly how it comes across.
Then, if you replied and blocked the account, the situation would be resolved.
Is someone allowed to have two profiles, one a pro and one a non-pro? There is a female cuddler in my area who joined this month as a non-pro but now also has a pro profile charging $180 per hour.
They often create an account that is normal, as they go through the request to be listed as a pro. but I didn't think that 2 profiles was acceptable. (sorry if that's not very helpful)
