Wanting cuddles more when sick?

I have auto immune problems/inflammation problems, it comes and goes but when I'm in a flare I would say I feel more needy like I want to lay in bed all day and cuddle, this isn't especially different from the rest of the time but I guess I want to cuddle more, is this odd lolol

    No, it's normal. Needing or wanting extra care can be one of the symptoms of being sick

    In such cases receiving care is a medicine.

    I suffer from chronic inflammation and it’s the opposite for me. Last thing I want to do is cuddle when I’m in pain.

    No . When I'm sick the last thing I want is to be around others especially if I'm contagious

    I can see that. Me, personally, I don’t really want touch when I'm sick but I definitely want to be babied and catered to. 🥰

    Also like to baby and cater to the people in my life, whom I love, when they are sick. It is part of my love language.

    Unsurprisingly, my SIL tells me that my daughter really "loves to be taken care of when she's sick," and I said, "Yes, that is how I raised her--be mentally strong but make sure you pick a honey who has your back when you are sick and you theirs."

    He liked that and said, "The system works."

    Now if only "the system" would produce some grandchildren. Had a near miss last year, but I'm hopeful. 🥹

    If I’m contagious I don’t want to be around anybody.

    But I deal with chronic pain and chronic health issues. When it gets too heavy I just want to be held and told everything is going to be ok. Kinda like today. I just want to Lay in bed and have someone play with my hair. Reassure me, Sing song to the music with me, even if they can’t hold a tune.

    As a pro of course I can’t ask for that from my clients. But there are lots of times I need that kind of cuddling.

    No. I just want someone to bring me soup and crackers. And a cool rag for my head.

    When I'm sick sometimes my energy is low and I do just want to be held, nurtured or cared for.

    When I don't feel well. Whether it's that I'm highly stressed, moody, upset, angry, depressed, or sick with a physical issue, the last thing I really want to do is be around anybody. So no thank you to cuddles for me when I'm sick.

    I am currently going through an emotional and also a non-infectious health struggle and I need cuddles constantly so have been trying to line them up daily and if not daily, I go to a friends house who has a back spasm and just hang out in her bed with her and cuddle her dog.
    Cuddles heal!

    When sick, physically or mentally, cuddling is a big no, it will definitely transfer and cannot be selfish.

    There was a similar thread last year about cuddling people in a hospital.

    For me, I’m a wounded animal when sick and want to be left alone to heal, being brusque and irritable when disturbed. I’m usually pretty good restraining that impulse but that’s stressful too. Don’t think I’d benefit. I appreciate the quick 5 min “I care enough to come down here” visit, but don’t want them to stay. 😇

    As for me being the healthy cuddler, if my cuddle partner is not contagious and wants contact to feel better I’d be honored. I value giving to my cuddle partner as well as receiving.

    Just not in a hospital. 😷 way too many things to catch there.

    I'm sick right now actually. I don't want to talk, listen, or look at another person when I'm really sick. Especially if a headache is involved.

    My comfort is rocking/shaking and I like to put one of my favorite TV shows on all day long. Cheers or the Office. I've seen them so many times that it's no problem if I fall asleep , and it's not novel so it won't keep me awake. But they do take my mind off the pain.

    I got sick last December, first time since COVID in 2021. I didn’t want to be around anyone until I was over it.
