How do I grant photo access to specific people?

Maybe I'm being blind but I can't find an option to do this. I've uploaded photos and set them to "friends". I've also shared the photos in private messages. But when I go to...

Settings > Review photo access

... it says "You have not shared pictures with any cuddlers". This implies to me that I can also allow specific people to see the photos on my profile. But I can't find an option to do this.

Does that option exist? If so where's it hiding? :)

I don’t believe there isn’t option like that. What you can do is invite them as friends or accept them as friends. So whoever are friends you can share the pics. If you don’t have friends, you are not sharing with anyone even though you selected photo security level as sharped with friends..

Choice's Vital is correct. There is, however, a little icon, lower-right corner, of the messaging dialog, that will allow you to attach a photo from those you have already uploaded. That way you can send a copy of the pic. But you aren't granting access to your photos unless you do that friends thingy.,

@natural_oceans You can indeed grant special access to specific people so they can see all your non-public photos.

First, you'll need to make sure you have uploaded photos to your profile that are set as either 'Friends' or 'Private. Then:

In message box click the image icon > My Library > look under 'Share' > Select to 'Private photos' and/or 'Friends photos'.

  • Aha thanks Mark. I was using the "Let me choose" option, and it seems that sharing in that way doesn't cause anything to appear on the "Review photo access" page. Is that intentional?

    Yes, that is intentional.

When you select 'Let me choose', you are no longer going to share (i.e. grant special access to your profile) but instead you are simply inserting specific photos from your account into the conversation.

It's a bit ambiguous so I should find better wording really.

  • Yes that makes sense. Thanks Mark.

  • You're welcome. I'm glad you created the thread as this is a relatively new feature so needs the exposure.

  • I'm still a little confused as to why this feature is integrated with the messaging feature. If I share my photos with someone do I have to send s message at the same time?

I assume this feature will affect the way my profile appears to them? And will it also affect the "icon" they see when I send them a message? In other words, if I have no public photos, but I share a photo with someone, will that photo appear to them as my profile picture?

I'm still a little confused as to why this feature is integrated with the messaging feature.

I understand where you're coming from. The expectation is most people would only consider sharing their photos during an active conversation. And it's similar functionality as attaching a photo so the feature is added in that same area.

If I share my photos with someone do I have to send s message at the same time?

You can leave the message area empty and it will still successfully share and send a notification (within the conversation) to the person stating you've shared your photos with them.

I assume this feature will affect the way my profile appears to them?

Your profile will actually appear how it appears to you. As in, the additional thumbnails (the ones with a padlock) that you already see on your profile will suddenly become visible to them too. And no, your primary photo (or lack of) does not look different to them.
