Why do you visit a person's profile?

I get people visiting my profile from all over. Some people visit frequently. I think the demographices are random but I wonder. What give you the impulse to visit someone's profile? There are some options in the survey but please don't limit your response to those.

    Something about their picture that might have got my attention, or like EarthlAngel003 said their user name got my attention. sometimes the device I am using has a mind of its own to take me to a persons' profile for the heck of it.

    Mistake .
    If I’m scrolling the phone screen with my thumb and my thumb touches the screen on top of the username.
    Or how about a Butt-visit
    Same thing as a Butt-dial

    If someone lives near me, or is from a town that is named the same as one near but is in another state (home page doesn’t show states) I’ll check because there aren’t really that many very near me. And then if they say something interesting in a forum post, I like to read the profile to help me understand point of view before I respond. Then there are those who visited my profile, I’m wondering about them. And as someone else said, sometimes I’m trying to scroll a page and just touch where it opens a profile unintentionally. Lots of choices for a reason, huh?

    Sometimes my fat clumsy fingers will hit their name and it will pop up , but typically it is intentional and is when I find interest in a post , something about their pic or user name is intriguing, if they are local or somewhat local to me, or if they have looked at my profile I may do so in return. I also often will look at the profile of people I am friends with to see any updated pics, see if they are online, or simply because it helps to feel slightly more connected to them.

    Many reasons. When I visit these forums I like to see who's talking about these subjects. I like to read people's different profiles especially the pros to see what they have to offer. I get ideas on the cuddle positions as well as didn't realize that alot of people brush hair.

    I visit profiles because I think people are interesting. :)

    Also:

    -- if someone says nice things on the forum I get curious about who they are.

    -- sometimes I'm wondering if a person is male or female, or where they live, how old they are etc.

    -- if someone looks kind / friendly / interesting I'd like to find out more about them.

    -- I like reading karma comments.

    -- I visit profiles for new women in my area.

    -- when I'm collecting stats for the site, I visit private profiles manually.

    Last time I did that (collect stats) I came across 8 people who had blocked me, which was a bit of a shock since I had never spoken to them; I wondered what I could have done to offend them, and wished there was a way to sort it out.

    Then I checked and found that all of them were men with private profiles that I had previously visited to get stats. I assume they were concerned about another man visiting their profile.

    To those people: there is nothing sinister going on! I don't want to steal your identity or date you! I think it's awesome that you're on this site, and I wish you well.

    I think there might be an assumption that people who visit a profile did so as a result of a search, and they are wanting to cuddle. Someone once wrote to me: "I saw that you had visited my profile and out of curiosity wonder what caused you to click on me, as we are both straight males" -- which was a fair question, but with a few assumptions.

    To quote @quietman775 (here):

    "You can't control who views your profile. And the fact that men sometimes view your profile does not mean they are looking to cuddle with you. When you post stuff on the forums, people often click through to your profile so they can learn something about the person who made the post. It's a community after all, and people are curious about who's in it. I cuddle only women. I still get lots of visits from guys, and I occasionally visit male profiles myself [...] It's no big deal. I'd say don't sweat it."

    In the end, it's just a link people are clicking on ...

    @mickcuddle I often view profiles just to see what state a strange city is in. @Theshystud Sometimes my motive has to do with forum content or pics though.
    From time to time I do use the Search feature to see if there are any new enthusiasts in my area who've checked their accounts within the past week.

    I wish the forum displayed at least country/state. I visit a lot of profiles just to see where someone is located after reading something on the forum that makes me want to check to see if maybe we can cuddle, ha.

    I visit if I see a forum post or if they are friends of people who post on forums and they visit back and it shows as visitors and I click again to know who visited me. Sometimes it becomes cyclic for no reason. Mostly I get interested to learn about people who post on forums

    reasons i look are many:
    -they make an interesting forum post
    -i like the way they look, if i see them on the front page.
    -they are in the UK, where I live
    -sometimes click on front page profiles by mistake

    Well I would assume they would message you if they check out your profile you get what I'm saying unless they don't like you but I doubt that in your case my friend, You seem like a delightful fella!

    Just read the responses above. Lots of reasons given.
    I get about Male 10-12 visitors, for every 1-2 females who visit.
    My profile invites people to drop a note. I get more message from females, by far.
    Most little greetings revolve around something in each-other's profile, or about location.

    @rob241 Weird? I don’t think so. I often get a few lookers who wonder something about me after I’ve written in the forums. Rare is it that they leave anything but footprints in the dust. I guess that if I got a lot of lookie-loo’s who lived near enough to be potential cuddle buddies, but never left a message, I’d worry about what was off-putting in my profile. But when someone from across the country or around the world doesn’t leave a message, I just figure they were curious, or maybe their finger just slipped.

    i tend to visit a lot of my visitors to see what they are about! most often they don't have anything on their profile, maybe not even a photo, but I just get genuinely curious as to who is looking at my profile. I thank them for their visit in spirit! :)

    Curiosity. I'm fascinated with how folks narratively present themselves - and by those who can't be bothered. Another entertainment is discerning what folks want, versus their mile long lists of what they don't want.

    @sideon Yeah, I’m thrown by negativity in some profiles. I don’t smoke, nor do I wish to get cuddle-close to someone who does. But “non-smokers preferred” beats “No smoking!” Look elsewhere for my tirade on age.
