What's up with some of the profile fields?

The fields about wanting kids and etc seem kinda date-y. I know it's something that can make you feel much more comfortable, sharing part of your life with people here, letting them know more intimate things XYZ. What's your take?

Comments

  • You're overthinking it. never bothered me to know if someone has kids or not or want kids or not.

  • @Sooson I am overthinking πŸ˜… but what do you think the designers thoughts were when setting up the fields?

  • I never even noticed that. But I also didn’t respond to if I have kids or not. I felt it was irrelevant

  • Doesn't bother me at all. Nobody has to answer either.

Might be helpful information for some cuddlers so no worries here.

Might be helpful information for some cuddlers

    πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

@gem7 Yeah it could be helpful for parents with smaller children of elementary school age or younger. 😊

Some cuddlers may not be comfortable cuddling with a parent with smaller children and babysitting issues...Boy howdy, I remember having babysitting issues myself many many many MANY years ago. πŸ˜†πŸ€¦πŸ˜”

I recall meeting a potential cuddler (we never did cuddle by the way, only met in public for introductions🀝) he shared with me about meeting another cuddler (they actually DID cuddle) with a 2 yr old and he felt uncomfortable due to the child's constant wandering in on them seeking out his/her mother (can't recall the child's gender in this story, so sorry πŸ™). Lol πŸ˜†

Lol! I did laugh, when he told me the poor kid kept
    πŸš«πŸ«‚"cuddle blocking"πŸ«‚πŸš« him so it wasn't a lot of cuddling happening. πŸ˜†

Fortunately, for ME I don't have a small child anymore...My son is a big boy now and he is big enough to get HIS OWN snacks, juice boxes, popsicles, cookies... Whatever he hungers for, he can get it himself now! πŸ’ͺ😊

    Lol! 🀣

So that would be useful information in that regard, yes I do agree with @gem7 on that.😁

  • Plus with small children, they'll ALWAYS find you...No matter where you go! Lol πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

    THEY'LL. FIND. YOU. πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

@deminemi I don't think there was as much thinking going into it as some may assume. it could be a software purchased from a 3rd party and the fields were available "so let's use them", maybe just to fill up the profile page a bit. it's something many people naturally incline to ask anyways when getting to know someone so may as well have it out there.
and as someone stated, the field is optional.

I don't think the intention is the encourage dating. The ones that are here to get in someone's pants could care less if that person has kids or not trust me. if you don't believe me, ask @Katota πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

And @Katota is not the only one with stories, ok? I remember the cuddler who's stated age was 30 and during the session started talking about her 19-year-old son. yea not nearly as bad as a toddler wondering around....

  • @Sooson Ohh, well that cuddler started mothering at a young age then. πŸ€”

I went to middle school and high school with girls who were in "the family way", witnessing their preggo situations helped my decision to be a mother much LATER in life. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

I don't mind the questions, especially how you can fill them out or not as you see fit for the most part.

@Sooson: I though the same thing as you articulated about maybe the fields had something to do with an out-of-the-box software solution, though who knows for sure outside of the people who put CC together, right? πŸ™‚

    😯

    @Sooson Really? There's a 3rd party for everything, huh! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

Yea, kids having kinds. A co-worker of mine has practically been the mother of her 3-year-old grandson since he was born.

  • Many of the profile bio fields that are there are meant to add more talking points for getting to know someone. Although, starting off with conversation about kids may come across as creepy or invasive. It should not be used as a way to find someone to make babies with.

Hahaha! @cheeseboy So true! But still made me LOL πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • More information is better than less information.

Some pros and other enthusiasts are not comfortable cuddling with other people who are in relationships. I personally don’t care but I have spoken with other pros who care.
