There’s quite a few people that I know that has very bad anxiety and is afraid to even take the first step
Anxiety and nervousness can be a huge barrier for many. Reassure them that fear and hesitation are common, especially with anxiety and you’re there to move at their pace. 🫂
Anxious people feel safer when they know they’re in control. Offer clear boundaries and consent structures like the "ask and wait" consent method. I would also mention that they can pause, stop, or say no at any time, and that you’ll check in throughout.
Offering something that feels safer can help. Examples: ▪︎A short “get-to-know-you” phone call ▪︎A casual in-person consultation in a public space like a coffee shop. ▪︎Start a session with 15-minutes of just conversation and check in after those 15 minutes. Ask if you can give them a hug or rub their arm or keep talking.
