Blocking Potential Cuddle Clients

Hey all!

I've been a professional cuddler off and on for multiple years now, but I just wanted to ask the community their opinion on a practice I've always kept. That practice being, if someone looks at my profile many times over (talking more than like seven times), without so much as a message, or responding to any message I might send them, I block the profile.

For me it's a comfort thing. I'm here to cuddle people. Not have my profile and pictures stared at. It gives me an uncomfortable voyeur feeling knowing someone is constantly on my page without ever making a move to directly interact.

And I'm not saying they have to book with me either! I've gotten messages from people regarding my profile or pictures where it's just a drive by comment like: profile made me laugh!

For me the whole point of the site is connection. So I like to weed out time-wasters or voyeurs.

Do any other cuddle-pros do this?

  • I have a habit of clicking on profile of people who post in the forums. Some of them send me a messaging asking if I want to book a session. Very rarely do they live within 200 miles of me and I don't do virtual sessions. I usually don't respond unless I have something besides a "no thank you" to say because I'm sure they get a lot of other messages and don't need to unnecessarily fill up their in box.

  • You’re not the only person I’ve heard that does this, not just pros but enthusiasts too.

I think it’s normal and understandable.

It can be taken to an extreme (I had one person that messaged me after two visits, the second was an accident) and make it clear that visits without bookings were not welcome. I bemusedly moved on and never went back. 😎

But I am a frequent browser (many reasons) so I generally reach out to at least say hi, unless the profile requests otherwise.

And I agree; I’m here to connect and I enjoy it, even if we don’t cuddle.

You’ve got every right to lay out your expectations, you could add it to your profile. Might help.

I just did click number one. I shall intermittently click several times more in the not so distant future to test if you mean what you say. Be prepared for others to do the same, as with forum posts comes curiosity. So when you post just be aware that you are essentially inviting folks to view your profile.

  • I get that some folks can make others feel uncomfortable when they click multiple times onto a profile but I feel often times it's for benign reasons, like trying to remind themselves of who you are and why they may have found you interesting and clicked on you before to begin with. As much as I hate to make the comparison because we are talking about humans and not Amazon, if you are a cuddle pro then your profile is essentially your advertisement for services. If you were a shop or company and someone clicked on your website multiple times without purchasing would you be upset?

@Mike403 I used to do this to when I spent more time on the forums a few years back. This I completely get!

My gripe is more particular, like if someone goes to look at my profile like five times within a few hours time span. Then I'll generally send a message going: hey there (so on). If I get no response from the person and over the next few days and hours they keep clicking my profile, at that point I block people.

My original post might have been a bit too vague on my blocking procedure haha. But I still want to know everyone's general opinion!!! :D

@lovingspoonfull Hah! Two views and blocked is wild!

It's personally not so big a deal it needs to be in my profile. I took a long sabbatical from cuddling because I was very busy for a time, and I've just noticed a site shift in that a LOT more people will view my profile over and over, in a short time span, without saying hi.

Kind of wanted to put my finger on the pulse of if this is the new norm haha

@pmvines Hah! You're funny. Like I said in one of my other replies, what gets people blocked is a more particular viewing pattern than an intermittent profile view from one person over a staggered time period.

I was more so vaguely curious if site norms had changed, because I haven't been active in a while!

(On general principle I won't block you now, because I'll recognize your profile from this thread 🤣)

I certainly get your point of view there! However, because we're talking about humans and not Amazon, I block not because someone hasn't booked, but because I'm on the site to connect with people. I generally message people after the first few viewings, and I block people if they don't even respond to the message.

People absolutely don't have to book! But I was raised with southern manners, and I like a response when I say howdy 🤠. For me, it's just about feeling comfortable and being polite

  • I click on someone's profile multiple times because 1-I often forget if it says they will host, and 2-I'm debating about seeing someone but I'm just not sure. I'm not stalking anyone, I'm just debating about who I want to see and decide if I'm ready to make the commitment to see them.

  • Thanks for bringing this issue to the forum, @littlebluebee!

I, personally, think it's quite strange to block someone because they visit a profile.....to be honest, if someone does that to me, it's quite helpful, as I know we wouldn't be a match.

As others have noted, one's profile on CC is actually an ad; and if people visit, it's a form of acknowledgment....you have drawn them in, either by a post in the forum, a compelling picture, or a name that is interesting. A frequent visitor could be one who has forgotten that he visited previously, or that he was entranced by a new photo, or wanted to reread some aspects of your profile. I have done so many times, but have never been blocked.....as quite a few pros never actually check who visited their profiles.

I have been blocked by a couple of cuddle clients for visiting their profiles just once.....which I find to be ridiculous.....as I only visited to see what the pro they saw left as karma for them. For me, before I schedule with a new pro, it's important how they articulate their appreciation for the clients with whom they saw. There are several pros with excellent karma who have left none for their clients.....that's a big red flag for me. And for a cuddle client to block someone just visiting to read the karma a pro left them is unfortunate, in my opinion....

The blocking mechanism should be used as intended....to stop harassment and unwanted communication. This site is meant to be one where people can connect, and the reading of profiles is a step in that direction. Constant visiting hurts no one, and the record falls off quite quickly, as I think only one page of visitors stays current

  • @beaubliss

For me, anyone can visit me anytime they want for as many times as they want. I have only blocked two people and those were from aggressive messaging (both wanting to take the chat to a different platform; which felt ... off).

@littlebluebee a few of the people you have blocked have a history of trauma around touch and are struggling to find their place here. They are very vulnerable and very nervous.

For this reason I would very strongly advise against blocking people simply because they have visited your profile many times. If you do it enough, then sooner or later you will do some harm to a vulnerable person who needs help.

A better policy is to have a copy/paste message - very gentle - to send in such cases. This will be helpful to the vulnerable, and will scare off many of the creeps. (And yes you are right, some of these multiple visitors are voyeuristic creeps. But remember that they are lonely and miserable people who need a cuddle, and repeatedly looking at a certain profiles is probably one of their few pleasures.) And again you are right, not replying to your message is rude. But this is the internet and rudeness is the internet's main thing.

It is normal for people to view a profile a surprising number of times while trying to pluck up the courage to book a professional, and find the right one for them. For example a dozen times in a week or so is deeply normal. (A dozen times a week for months on end is not.)

I understand all the perspectives listed here and enjoyed reading through them. I posted the question to get a better view of the other side. Everything is about perspective. I think what this comes down to is levels of comfort for everyone involved, clients and the cuddle professionals, all who are people with feelings and rich inner lives. A lot to think about! I enjoy the forums for this reason.

  • This thread has been living rent free in my head since I first read it 😂. Now I’m afraid to click on profiles because it feels “stalkerish.” Ironically, my intention for joining CC was to transparently explore (platonic) intimacy without imposing on anyone’s personal space.

What’s really awkward is that I’ll often leave a browser tab open when I find a pro I’m interested in booking with. I won’t reach out right away to avoid wasting their time. Every time those tabs were refreshed, those pros must’ve received new visit notifications from me… day after day 😩.

The web developers need to help us out with this mutually uncomfortable dilemma!
