What would be a good way to post ads (on other sites or on posters)? Such as what do you think and believe would attract someone who doesn't know what platonic cuddling is about and to draw them to sites such as this site?
its a concept, not a sound-bite. I think its one of those things that really benefits from a conversation. (thinking out loud here)
Please do not put this site on craigslist. That would be the worst kind of publicity.
I've found plenty of serious cuddlers on CL, but the ad wouldn't stay up for long most likely, they've been taking all of them down.
I recently saw an article on another website about the benefits of cuddling. In this case it wasn't a blog or something like that, so you couldn't comment. But if there's an article you come across that's about cuddling and you can comment, you should give it a try and mention this site. Maybe say that you're passing it on so people who can't get cuddles on a regulat basis can get ther fill.
Yeah I have to agree with @floaties16 and @Kaiterpillar. If you post it to craigslist, I think you risk attracting unwanted traffic. And since that new law passed, they've taken down anything that has to do with personal encounters there too, for accountability issues I think, since you can't exactly verify who you are with craigslist.
Since many women are complaining they get too many messages, and are even leaving the site because they get overwhelmed, shouldn't we put the emphasis on attracting more female members to address the imbalance of the sexes? Does this site really need even more male members chasing the few women.
@UKGuy In my honest opinion I believe it is less about the number of women vs men as it is the amount of men who send unsolicited messages to women vs amount of women sending unsolicited messages to men. Especially if they are a non paid cuddler, as that is what likely many men here would like to find. So you could have the same ratio of men and women, and still have the men sending more messages, particularly initial ones. To me it just seems likely
I think it’s most effective to target sites used by single people. Put ads on dating websites, in laundromats, at universities, Planned Parenthood, groups advocating for STD-safe practices, community groups, bird watcher groups. LARPing groups, fan groups, zoomba class, MeetUp.com...you know, things that single people do to get out and meet others. I know some partnered folks cuddle too but the physical contact deficit seems strongest in the single communities. Also, therapy offices and suicide prevention groups. These people needs cuddles.
This might all depend on if you are trying to publisize the site, which might be the bailewik of the owners, or if you are trying to publisize cuddling. In which case you might mention this or other sites, in which case, the audience that Tallmann just mentioned resonates.
For publisizing cuddling: Re-post links to relevant studies, include cuddleparties in some way, include websites in some way, create some marketing packets with ideas for cuddle parties, other stuff.
But the biggest impact is when you share your own testimony, one-to-one.
I like the cuddle party idea -- attend your local cuddle party and share with them the details of the site.
Targeted facebook ads.
I am the one and ONLY active member in my state. I generated interested in one member who hasn't been active in 8 months but he's after something of less than honourable intentions. So I plan on using my own funds to print some of the fliers on the site here and post them around town. I am also putting notes on facebook, and taking an amazing amount of ridicule about this site from my friends, and will try publishing notes on the benefits of human touch on community forums.
For me it's either wither away from lack of human contact or act the proponent. I really have no choice but to act. At least until I can move to a more accepting location! Or take an over the road job allowing me to cuddle in every state I'd drive to!
sounds good Paula...if you ever make it to West Virginia, look me up.
I shall
There isn't enough cuddles close to me. Maybe this site could be advertised on social media.
I just recently saw a mini-documentary on cuddle services, which was presented with a positive display of the community. Unfortunately, while my area has cuddlers, there do not seem to be any active anymore.
@just_being_me I did a cuddle search in your area with a 50 mile radius, and over 100 profiles showed up in the search, so there are plenty nearby, atleast by my standards. If you're looking for people that are going to be a lot closer than that, it seems like that's generally pretty hard to come by unless you live in a metropolitan area or big city from what I've seen so far.
Perhaps posting on social media would increase the popularity of this website. It would be nice if the male/female ratio could be fixed so maybe the ad should only appear on female social media accounts for a while.
@BrielleBronte COVID was the leading cause of death in December, so that may be part of it! Things will hopefully be better and more cuddly in the coming months.
@just_being_me yes, you are right. The more people we tell the better. However this is a small site and it doesn't have much in the way of resources. I doubt there is much or even any money for advertising.
Anything and everything you can do to spread the word or promote the site is going to be valuable.
This page has a whole bunch of videos and other useful resources about the importance and value of cuddling, including a TEDx talk and a session with comedians.

I think it has to be word of mouth because you don’t like creeps are weirdos on here so we have to know if you can trust somebody in order to have them come Into our safe space in order to cuddle us.
