Finally got the hysterectomy I've been needed for decades!! Couldn't be happier about it and everything went well in the hospital 😋
I'm curious now though, how common is cuddling while on recovery? 🤔

I've done several rounds of recovery in the last year and cuddling has been a vital part of that. You need to be careful though - cuddling is physically and emotionally more tiring than you think, and you do need to be well enough to do it otherwise the benefit could be outweighed by the exhaustion it creates.
In the very early stages of recovery cuddling is really just the presence of the a suitable person, hand-holding, or just touch. I greatly appreciated somebody sitting on my bed so that I could touch them with my legs, through the covers.
I’m currently been in hospital for last 5 days and input on my profile no cuddles till august I believe. It’ll be 10 weeks before I’m allowed to drive and I just can’t trust that someone isn’t going to grab on me the wrong way or too aggressively- cause it has happened in the past then I stop them and correct Them but at this point damage might already be done
Maybe I’d cuddle with some of my regulars a little sooner
Definitely cuddle but make sure you will be the recipient
I think it depends on the surgery. I have had two that it was impossible for 3 to 5 months. I have had other surgeries that it was cool to cuddle a week later. Just depends on common sense, the type of surgery, doctor’s advice, and your comfort level.

@sage91436 Ooo, hadn't thought about the grabbing 🤔 it would definitely be easy to kinda forget about that, and being sleepy would mean being even less awareness to watch out for unexpected harm!

@biancalovecraft Oooo, good advice! I do tend to focus more on my cuddle partners than myself, so that would be a good thing to establish beforehand 🤔
I would have to be very strict on rules. I'm 2 days post op myself and can't even tolerate a shirt on, right now. I couldn't imagine the weight of an arm or a hand let alone laying on my side or back comfortablly.. for long.
Go slow, there is no rush. You do not want to pop any sutures internally due to strain.
