What are you all reading?

I just finished reading Tina Knowles's memoir Matriarch. I was pleasantly surprised at how well written and insightful it was. A private person she offered a good look into her personal life and humanity. A good read that covers her growing up in the segregated south and creating a legacy from the ground up.

“Mudbound” by Hillary Jordan. I don’t read many fictional books but I enjoy the historical context and the unique narrative style.

  • @Joe82_ that was a really good movie. Have to let us know if the book is better

  • @ladybug7 will do. I’m going to wait until I finish the book for the movie. I found my copy in a little free library box in a random town I drove through in Missouri . Does anyone else like checking out or maintaining little free library caches?

  • @Joe82_ I pilfer them religiously. Lol they are all over where I live. I donate back when I'm done with books but those things are awesome.

I too was recommended this book as well 😬😂😂 definitely worth a read. It’s wild how much trauma impacts not just mental health, but also the body overall: things like the adrenal glands, immune system, cortisol levels, increase risk for certain conditions, etc.

We only have one body, one chance: have to take care of it!

    hugs ☺️🩷

  • Re-reading “Awaken the Giant Within” by Tony Robbin’s. I read it a few years ago and implemented a lot of his advice. It worked for me. It is interesting now for me to re-read what he said through the lens of my experience doing what he suggested,
