Circumventing a block

I have got myself into something I don't know the consequences of. I blocked someone who overrode my telephone "goodbye" twice and continued, so I blocked him. I was told circumventing a block is a bannable offense. I could not find a definition and list of things that constituted a breach. The dictionary says it is avoidance expecially illegally. What are the implications? Financial? Defamation? Harassment? Misusing a carriage service? Other? How can someone override a block? I am not sure I am protected so I muted my account.

    You have blocked somebody, so this does not apply to you.

    The other person cannot contact you directly, because you have blocked them. Examples of "circumventing a block" might include procuring a third party to contact you on their behalf; tagging you in a forum post; or creating a new account and using it to contact you. Anything like that.

    If somebody attempts something like this after you have blocked them, Report it to the Mods. They will consider the cirumstances and issue an appropriate sanction, which could of course be a ban.

    Having multiple accounts at once (sock puppets) is a bannable offence in its own right.

    There are million reasons why you might block somebody: some members use it as an administrative convenience. However, if you have done it because of troublesome behaviour by the other person, you should consider whether to Report them. If you have clearly and explicitly asked somebody not to contact you again (ideally in writing), and they have, then it is appropriate to Report.

    Always keep converstation on the site until you are comfortable with the connection. Never use apps with disappearing messages.
