Hey Folks! To all of those fathers who have stood in place, been around, loved on their little ones, and shown them A way of being in the world, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!! To the dads who changed themselves in order to make room for their children's growth and well-being: HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

To the dads whose strong, quiet, reliable, solid presence in the lives of their little ones, whose wisdom, mistakes, and laughter made the whole world better for them... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

It has been my pleasure to know some GREAT DADS... I'm GRATEFUL for their Truth, vulnerability, willingness to bend down to reach even the smallest on their own level... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

If there has been a full-grown, gruff-but-kind, awesome, amazing man who influenced you in a good way, at ANY point in your Life, here's the chance to send out LOVING GRATITUDE AND THANKS for the "steel" he helped instill in you!!!

    YOU ARE APPRECIATED... PLEASE know that!! Fatherhood is, sometimes, a thankless, unacknowledged task. Shouldn't be. Dads are rough and tumble, not quite perfect, loud, hilarious, too rough sometimes...but you know what? DADS CAN BE THE BEST SOUL SUPPORTERS POSSIBLE--SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, AND BROUGHT BACK THE MAP.. Your son is a BETTER PERSON, BECAUSE of your influence!!!

    Father's Day hits differently when your dad passes. This is my first year knowing he's gone, that there won't be a phone call or visit.

    His favorite restaurant was Hooters because he said he liked the wings. Sure, Dad, sure. Maybe I'll get some wings today (but not from Hooters) and sip a beer in honor of his memory.

    @Sideon ~ Thank you. I'd imagine that there are many for whom this day is no longer a celebration, but a reminder of his being gone. I'm sorry for that.

    I have to say, though, at least you got to--for a good, long while--- feel his Presence, his strength, his toughness... You got to have him in your life. You got to feel the assurance of belonging. The part of Him that he raised up in you, never leaves. Forgive me. I didn't mean to be indelicate or inconsiderate to those for whom this day brings a twinge of sadness instead of celebration...

    For those who are able to, please appreciate and post memories of your dad. Especially those that helped make you the solid, contributing, wise citizen you've become BECAUSE of his influence.. :)

    Dads are important. I'm glad there's a day when we can, if we choose to, honor them, whether or not they are still here with us!!!

    I love being a father. Kind of miss being father to a young kid, but I'll get grandkids in a few years.

    Went to a graduation party yesterday, nonstop I heard about how great of a man my boy has grown into.

    This am got a text from my son thanking me for being the dad I was and guiding him so well. I responded to him that I love that but honestly I'm proud of him for making the right choices and following my words.

    This is a real big thing for me because the last time I saw my dad he was choking me against a wall.

    Damn, @wilderdude ... I'm seriously sad to hear that, about the last time you saw your dad. Every example isn't worth following...

    I got tears when you wrote of how your own son, who got the benefit from your own Life Growth, your own commitment to BEING BETTER THAN ALL THAT YOU'D SEEN, texted his real gratitude for having YOU in his life.. Beautiful!!

    I know I'm late, but since I have chosen not to speak to my dad since I was 17, I'll say...

    Happy Father's Day to the uncles, co-workers, cuddle friends, and relatives of my boyfriend who have all stepped in over the years with their own small contributions to my need for a father figure.

    Most of all, thank you to D and R...you both gave me a safe space and acceptance - once when I desperately needed it, and then when I could most celebrate it. Nothing can ever compare to these gifts of pure acceptance.

    There are still wounds from childhood that may be tender as long as I live, but I'm so grateful for those who have held my hand through the pain.
