Nurses/nursing/care-givers

I always look at the profiles of new members and recently I see a lot of profiles listing nurse, etc as their profession.
Over my life, I've spent a couples-month's work of time in your care. I've had recent losses and was also supported in the care given to my loved-ones.

Thanks for all you life-givers pour over people.

    I've had some good experiences with nurses too. I usually try to find out their address and sent them a card thanking them for their care. I'm glad that talented and caring people continue to seek out this profession.

    True, sometimes they are very underrated but I’ve come across some really genuine and caring people. Humbled and thankful for all they do!

    I as well have come across nurses that are now cuddlers. They know how to love and take care of people.

    I have seen them wear T-shirts at Rally's that say - Save one life and you are a hero, save hundreds and you're a nurse

    I work with nurses both in hospice care as well as my weekend job at the hospital. Love what they do, I def could not do it!! Takes a rare bird

    You’re more likely to have a nurse care for you while you’re sick and seeing the doctor. From my experience anyway, I only ever saw my doctor after the nurse looked at me and knew already what the doctor had to prescribe me.

    @stellarosass - my primary care 'doctor' is actually a nurse practitioner. It's impossible to get an appointment with the one real doctor at my practice. But I don't mind because the NP is much more thorough than any real doctor I've ever seen.

    My mom was a home care nurse and she gave so much. I think about becoming a professional caregiver but don't know if I could tolerate losing patients ?

    I gave her a little placard that she still keeps in the back window of her car: What love can't cure, nurses can.

    As a registered nurse who just came across this thread on the forum, I say THANK YOU to you all for your kind words! Nursing is hard work, can be extremely physically exhausting and emotionally draining, but I can't think of anything that is more rewarding!
