The effect of misleading positive karma and its impact on safety

edited July 2025 in Pro Cuddling

I once met with someone who had all 5-star karmas, and yet the experience turned out to be unsafe. The session started off fine, but toward the end, the person tried to corner me into a bathroom. I won’t go into the details, but it was super clear they had harmful intentions. Thankfully, I was able to assert myself and get out of the situation—but I worry that someone more timid or less experienced might not have been as lucky.

I’m sharing this to gently advocate for more honesty and transparency when it comes to leaving reviews—both from clients and pros.

It may seem harmless to leave a glowing karma out of politeness, habit, or in hopes of receiving one in return. But if something felt off, uncomfortable, or unsafe, it’s important to speak up for the sake of this entire community. safety should always come first.

  • 100% but I also find there are so many times where a cuddler is amazing with me so I leave a 5 star review and then all of a sudden, they are banned for something bad or I find out they assaulted or pushed the boundaries of another pro. Sometimes the karma is correct but the cuddler chooses who they want to be a douche to.
But I do agree that everyone needs to be more truthful in their karma. If I even get a whiff that they were hoping for more, I don’t usually leave a karma.

  • @alyhugs Out of curiosity, when you reported were they banned even with the 5 star Karmas?

  • @MTex yes thankfully 🩶

  • Oh good, I'm glad. As an enthusiast I rely on karmas to help me vet potential partners. I'm weary of people who have been on the site for years & have no friends or karmas.

The predator I reported who got banned had no karmas despite saying he had several cuddle sessions. At the time I didn't know that was a red flag. 🚩 Along with the fact that once he had my phone number he deactivated his account. 🤦🏻‍♀️

  • @MTex I have seen people banned who had over 100 five-star Karmas.

It usually just means that we have other financial responsibilities. Most men can't find a cuddle partner without paying for it.

  • @CuddleDuncan Wow, that's crazy! I wonder what caused them to start breaking the rules? Or were they doing it all along but didn't get caught until much later? 🤔

@Mike403 I understand we all start off at zero & slowly expand our cuddle network. There's nothing wrong with that.

But I was referring to people who claim they have had several cuddle sessions & nothing to show for it. No friends or karma despite already having sessions is a red flag for me. This is after encountering a predator who deactivates after finding it's prey.

@MTex the people I'm thinking of were offering non-platonic services, and it's likely they were doing it the whole time. However, they may not have been doing it with all clients: there are some people who genuinely want to offer a range of services depending on what the client wants. This is contrary to the terms of service, which clearly stipulate that professional cuddlers may not offer non-platonic services at all, whether on CC or elsewhere.

  • @CuddleDuncan I see, wow that's undermining to those who want to maintain this platonic platform. I'm glad they were finally brought to light.

I have someone who has contacted me that has karma but doesn't leave karma. All of the karma seem to be from pros. I'm not sure about this person. Has anyone ever contacted you (pro) about a potential cuddle partner? I was just wondering if this person is legit & respectful. I don't want any personal info.

    Edit for misinformation.

  • @MTex - I am one of those you have characterized - Been here for a long time and no karma.

My early experiences with pros were asking for a tip to leave a karma or pros that don’t have the courtesy to leave a karma (even after they request one from me).

I am not chasing pros to leave me karma. When I approach a cuddler, I check if their profile mentions anything about karmas. Surprisingly, some pros request an advance for lack of karmas.

I politely explain why I don’t have karmas if asked. And offer alternate ways like a video call so that the pro can do a vibe check.

I personally don’t see any weight associated with karmas as I have been cat fished a few times by pros with glowing karmas.

I understand that for your safety this would mean something to you and I respect that.

    Peace!

@Observant thank you for giving your perspective. I'm sorry you have had those experiences.

I do put some weight on karmas but I have cuddled with a couple of people who didn't have any. It became a red flag after I saw the pattern of the predator with no karmas who for years would deactivate his account.
Karmas can only get you so far. As you mentioned the person's vibe can make or break a potential cuddle.

  • I really wish there was another option besides leaving no karma or leaving a 5 star one. I don't feel comfortable leaving a bad karma for fear of retaliation. I wish we could leave anonymous reviews sometimes. I know that's not a good option either, but how else can you say what you really experienced with someone?

  • We need someone from culture club to define Karma right now. Is it for show or is Karma really a way of life? Hmm

(edit for clarity: "you" as in general you / one, not OP or anyone else personally)

    An alternative perspective to consider:
Abusers don't abuse everyone, else they'd get caught and stopped early. They learn to hide behind glowing reviews from many so they can gaslight and discredit the ones they abuse.

It is entirely possible for someone to be polite, respectful, and conscientious with one person, and then abusive, pushy, and manipulative to another. An abuser often even starts out charming & respectful at first, and then starts testing boundaries and becoming increasingly problematic.

This is why it is so, so important to believe and validate victims/survivors when they come forward. Just because someone was wonderful with you doesn't mean they weren't a toxic manure heap with someone else. While it is important to speak from your own experience, it's a good idea to remain mindful that you don't actually know what happens when that person is not around you.
