i used to think he was old as hell in the late 90s lol. now i'm almost that old.
saw him live at ozzfest in 2000 i believe. did a set with sabbath and a set with his band back when zakk wylde and rob trujillo were part of it. late 90s ozzfest festivals were amazing.

I'll never forget his duet with Lita Ford, "If I Close My Eyes Forever." I watched his final performance of "Mama I'm Coming Home" and admit I might have shed some manly tears.
Farewell to the man who, after getting fired from Black Sabbath, married Sharon, brought us "Diary of a Madman," literally pissed off and on the Alamo, introduced his family to us via 'The Osbornes,' and despite Parkinson's robbing his mobility, was able to give the world a final, sweeping performance.
Diary of a Madman one of my favorite records to this day absolute masterpiece. Ozzy a true legend will never be another like him.
Rest in peace Ozzy. 😞😔 Felt like he'd somehow always be around forever despite the odds.
As someone who has been raised by punk rock and heavy metal this is so sad. Hard to believe he just did his last every performance 2 weeks ago

I was a huge Ozzy fan in high school. He will be missed but glad he’s finally reuniting with Randy Rhodes.
Unpopular opinion: I can't understand how anyone called what he did "music"..

@great_pillow08 look, I get that there are different strokes for different folks... but to say his material wasn't music is insane. Such a unique harmonic voice, awesome songwriting and surrounded by some of the greatest musicians ever, from a music theory standpoint even. These weren't people just goofing around.

I was never a huge Ozzy fan, as I preferred, as David Lee Roth used to call it, "big rock." (the rest of us called it "hair metal). But I wanted to make a list of my favorite Ozzy songs, so I went down the wormhole, and damned if my list of what I thought would be 5-7 songs quickly ballooned to 15-20. Ozzy was truly a trailblazer. Amazing how many times he redefined himself.
first theo huxtable, now ozzy. wth. he wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but there are so many iconic songs that connect me back to different places in my life. Even my kids are pretty big fans of his and they are still in elementary/middle school. They regularly rock out to Crazy Train. And he always had a great sense of humor about himself and the world around him.
I remember one of the first songs I learned on the guitar was Crazy Train, followed by Iron Man and Paranoid. Wanted to learn Mr. Crowley but never got to that point. But yeah Ozzy’s music inspired me to learn guitar back in high school.
