Differences in taking your profile offline.

I saw when logging out of my cuddle comfort profile that their are two other options besides just basically logging out. One is hiding your profile from search (mute) your profile and the other one is taking your profile offline (Deactivating your account). My question is what is the difference between someone just muting their account so it is hidden from searches verses someone taking the profile offline (deactivating their account?). I am just curious what the difference is if their is one.

    Respectfully, you sort of answered your own question.

    Muting = you can see people, they can't see you unless you message them

    Deactivating = well, now ya can't see anyone or anything. Official goodbye mode after 30 days.

    Now that you’ve posted in the forum, anyone can click on your name to view your profile, even if you’re muted. The Forum makes you more visible.

    Yes, deactivating is basically leaving the site without erasing your profile.

  • If you mute, people can still view your profile if they have a link or click your profile in the forum/friends list, etc. Your profile is still active on the site.

    If you deactivate, your profile is hidden. No one can see your profile even if they click on it.

    If you delete, it’s like deactivating except after 30 days it is entirely deleted from the site.

    Mute to be less visible while still being able to use the site, deactivate to take a break, and delete if you no longer want to have a profile here.

    Sorry if this has been asked/answered but I have a similar question about how account statuses are reflected in my inbox. Some users are grey and either (banned) or (deleted) shows next to their user name. Frequently the “deleted” accounts come back to life leading me to believe they were actually either muted or deactivated. Can you please clarify?

    Also thanks to all the mods!!

    This is true.

    @DeerLady
    Oh yeah, if they delete and come back, they changed their mind and came back within the 30 day window.

    Pros especially will see their inbox as a graveyard of deleted/banned accounts. I’d just delete those convos. Those messages are just deleted from your view, not from the site.

    Side note: If misconduct happens and that person deleted their account, still report them (you can do so from your messages with them). They delete hoping it means they cannot be reported/banned, but as long as it is within that 30 day window, action can still be taken by the mods/admins.

    Got it.

    If the account is gone, I’ll delete the message. But if delete/undelete might be back, I need to keep it in my inbox for 30 days. And I won’t know if someone is muted or deactivated.
