Sometimes when I cant sleep I just lay there and pet my dog that always laying next to me. Sometime, I will get up, take a hot shower and get on the computer and try working on my writings or scope out ideas for my next wood working project.
@g_w_t_w Do you think you normally breathe through your mouth at night? I’d love to hear how it goes!
@Erin_Elle_ That’s what I need to find out. I haven’t bought the tape because if I did have sleep apnea, it could be dangerous. I just probably need to do a sleep study. But I’m definitely curious!
@BearCraft If I had a dog sleeping next to me, I think it would really help. I used to and miss him a lot. I’m just not in a position to get one now but I think about it constantly!
@g_w_t_w Have you tried a weighted blanket?
Yes I do have one but it’s in storage, unfortunately. Everything I own has been in storage for a year! Maybe it would help if I could find it, thanks for the suggestion.
@g_w_t_w You're welcome, Sorry to hear that, not having your own things for a year can't be helping your sleep!
@CravingHugs Yes my life is very unsettled right now and don’t know how it can change. Oh well, go with the flow! I’m taking magnesium and 1 300mg gabapentin which I would rather not but I’m desperate. And then I get woken up by someone when I’ve finally fallen asleep.
When you can't sleep
😁🤔
Lol. I just lay there until my alarm ⏰ goes off...😆
I mean insomnia👀, mixed in with hot flashes and night sweats 🥵. Staying awake happens sometimes, Menopause is a blast y'all! 😆👍
This might sound/read weird, but start reading the bible. Satan, will make you sleepy, so you can't read it. The more you read the better your soul will feel.
start reading the bible. Satan, will make you sleepy
@Cuddledaddy60 Lol. 😄 But if Satan will make me sleepy, shouldn't I just avoid reading The Bible altogether on sleepless nights...???
😁
... You know, I can't tell who is playing devil's advocate here ... 🤪
@Katota Be somewhere in the middle, read the bible but only the boring parts
@g_w_t_w I am sorry to hear that, hopefully sometime in the near future you will be able to get another one. I'm typically surrounded, I have one dog by my head, another behind my knees then of the cats either stretch out over me or along side me, so I get pinned down on a regular basis. lol
I’m so jealous @BearCraft ! Give them extra snuggles for me. I have a sweet fur baby when I’m in Seoul who often sleeps with me.
I falls asleep easily with a weight of a dreaming / purring human companion cuddling together. A 15 lbs cat over my shoulder, on my chest isn't big enough.
@g_w_t_w , Seoul, Haven't visited there yet, spent a few days in Busan but wasn't able to make my way over there. That was many years ago
I played brown noise on my phone the last two nights and I fell asleep better than ever before. Only got up once to use the bathroom.

@BearCraft I hope to go to Busan on my next trip. Hope you can make it to Seoul someday!
I’ve started meditating on occasion. Sometimes it transitions into sleep, sometimes it ends up being rest by itself.
@g_w_t_w @BearCraft Both cities are great places to visit.
@g_w_t_w Busan, in case you didn't know, has Shinsaegae (not entire sure of the spelling), which is the largest department store in the world. When I was there, I worked in a hagwon about a block away from there. The lower floor had a food court, where I would get most of lunches from.
@GuyverGordon Yes, I’ve been to the Shinsegae store in Seoul and also went to Lotte World mall. Hyundai Seoul. I hit all the malls a few times, especially for Christmas shopping. I didn’t know you were a teacher in SK at one time. I’d love to know more sometime. I have friends in Seoul who are teaching there. I hope to go back in February for 5 months again. I miss the food! Did you ever go to Jeju? I will make it to Busan on my next trip.
@CravingHugs Ahh, so I should definitely avoid reading Songs Of Solomon then..HA! 😁
@g_w_t_w Yeah, I was there for almost 2 years (first year in Suncheon, second year in Busan). I didn't realize Soeul also had a Shinsaegae; apparently Busan is still the largest though (?). That was 15 years ago. (It doesn't feel like it though)
I don’t know which is largest but the one in Seoul is very big. I love the shopping there almost as much as the food. But overall culture is the best thing for me. And my family there of course! I hope you make a trip to Seoul someday!
It would be fun to revisit 😄... every so often I dream that I do, and I am almost familiar of the location but always ultimately lost.
@MJ73 if you can't find someone to talk to, I found writing a letter with no intention to send it to anyone helps. Just opened up notepad and start typing your thoughts away, let the thoughts control the keys, don't worry about formatting. Get it all out. I do it every now and then and it physically feels like the world is lighter around me for a couple days.
As for me, I put on streamers that are relatively chill or I understand their mannerisms.
Yoga Nedra. Specifically for sleep.
