It's on you. Report if scam. Use common sense, don't send any money before cuddle session.
You have to report first. Then CC can access the booking history, any messages you two sent, etc. If you booked offsite, there won't be any evidence for them to look at.
Scamming profiles get banned all the time. Sometimes there is a delay because some of them counter-attack claiming the other person did something wrong, and unless the correspondance is all on the site it can be difficult for the Mods to sort fact from fiction.
"No" is a full sentence! You can say it to yourself, to perfect strangers, or to close friends or family. "If it seems to good to be true, it usually is"!! YET ANOTHER reason I'd never be a "pro"..

Just have to be very careful. I had one Pro go thru my medicine cabinet and took about all of some strong pain pills I had left over when I broke my leg. Once on a road trip a non pro was ok meeting up but would not meet in my rv so I got a motel and then got a message that they couldn’t meet up. I have never sent a deposit but I ever did I would use Pay Pal and it as a business not family. I had a few out of state wanted me to send them money for a plane ticket, lol. I’m not that dumb.
@great_pillow08 use your own judgement based on their karma/history on the site and accept the fact that there is a greater than 0% chance that money is gone without you receiving any service. Advisement is to use a form of payment where you have some recourse, i.e. PayPal and not one where you can't dispute things I.e. cashapp.
Yes, cuddling a pro is a service they are providing you, it's a professional arrangement, no different from say, a massage, visiting the dentist or hiring a housemaid.
@great_pillow08 I have seen a number of people say they are not comfortable paying a deposit. Conventional wisdom seems to be, if you're uncomfortable, look for a pro who doesn't ask for one.
Caregiving is a paid service, a job. (It also can be done as volunteer work). Nurses are also Caregivers. Caring for elderly, disabled, touch starved can be included, and yes even those with various disorders. Expressing such a distain for those who care for others is disappointing.
The thing is she had great karma reviews and she’s been a member since 2024. The conversation seemed genuine. But this was in detroit so go figure.🤷🏽♂️

I have seen a lott of 'pro' filed say deposit required before meeting and I have never tried to book with any of them
Saw one today that said deposit required for a virtual, I find that utterly bizarre.
There are sex workers and men who have committed assault here who have great reviews.

Worth noting that some of the pros asking for deposits are completely legit. They've lost time and money on bookings where clients cancel at the last minute or ghost. Getting some money up front makes it more likely the client shows up. Not that much different than a contractor asking for a down payment.
Asking for a deposit doesn't make you a scammer. For some it's just their best personal business practice. Doesn't mean you have to see them as there are loads who don't ask for deposits but doesn't mean there is anything inherently wrong with it.
@g_w_t_w. Yes, care giving is a service and nurses, massage therapists or even some type of home service workers go through licensing or some type of certification to evaluate the skill set that they bring to their patients and/or clients.
Professional cuddlers on this site do not go through such training or certification and if there are, it’s typically a very small number of pros who possess that, especially when it comes to counseling, touch therapy, etc.
I don’t think she was meaning it in a demeaning way, but nothing defines a “pro” cuddler vs an enthusiast besides the fact they charge for their time……and the operative word being time, not “service.”
The very definition of the word professional when referring to a line of work is that you are paid to do something. Has nothing to do with skillset or certifications etc.
@TLC007 I’ve been a long time paid caregiver. Through care.com. It didn’t require special licensing, depending on responsibilities. I also donate my time at a hospital in Dallas, cuddling premies. No licensing but a small amount of training. And to add - many Pro Cuddlers on this site have gone through training. @wilderdude is exactly correct of course.
As an honest pro cuddler I want to say that yes I am one that requires a deposit prior to cuddling for my first time cuddlers because SO many people have cancelled! It weeds out the serious cuddlers from the non committal wishy washy ones. I make exceptions only for certain ppl with certain circumstances who have shared a phone conversation with me prior to meeting who resonate as honest and non flaky. I would NEVER scam anyone. I do believe in karma!
Disagree. There are plenty of occupations that have a certain standard, whether it be through education or certifications, before you can be called a professional in those jobs. A person, just because they’re being paid to do something, doesn’t mean that they’re a professional in that job.
Here, since you don’t have to acquire any skills to become a paid cuddler, yes, I guess the term “professional” applies.
My housekeeper and my pet sitter do not have certificates to do what they do.. only background checks/references are required.. they must be in good health, Mentally and Emotionally stable and Non judgemental of others! I would not expect them to do it for free.. they deserve payment for their “services” and time..they are kind and caring humans, they are wonderful! 😃 they are good at what they do and I appreciate them .. 😊

I’m skeptical about deposits. I paid a deposit for a session that I had while I was here in Dallas and it worked out fine. Most of the time, pros see how long I’ve been on here and my karma and they don’t insist on deposits. I wouldn’t pay a deposit to a pro who isn’t established though.
Well... I'm not sure if I was scammed outright, but I had arranged for a cuddle session with a pro back at the beginning of June. They had messaged me first (and I had definitely viewed their profile before on more than one occasion when browsing around locally) and managed to convince me to book a session with them. This was the first (and now probably last) pro that required me to make a deposit beforehand. I felt uneasy about that but their karma seemed to suggest they were good and I had seen the profile around for some time so I thought everything would be fine. At first they stated the deposit would be 75% of the session cost, then they (I assumed they made a mistake) asked for the full amount deposited, to which I replied I though you said x amount. They then replied oh yes sorry that's the correct amount. I sent the deposit via cashapp (which I am not using now) and we confirmed a booked session to take place 2 days after that. They gave me their phone number to keep in touch after this and on the morning of I was told they were feeling sick, and then tested positive for Covid. I wished them a speedy recovery and that I'm sorry to hear that and I was being patient. This (as it shows in my booking history) of course meant the session was "cancelled" by them with the reason stating "Illness- rescheduling once recovered." They told me I was kind and understanding and I had no reason to not believe them and was checking on their health every couple days/week. I heard back early July and that they were recovered so I asked when we could reschedule and didn't hear back for about a week or so. They then said they were out of town with family so I said I hope they have a fun time and safe trip and at the end asked if we could schedule something when they got back in town. That was the last time I heard from them. I sent a text July 23 to ask and again on July 30 with no response. I then went to check my messages on here and see that they were banned to my surprise. I just tried texting the number today asking about either refunding the deposit I paid or what the story is. I got a response "This phone number is no longer in service". I think that's the last time I'll be paying a deposit before a session.
Edit: I got curious as I don't think I often see an automated response saying a number is not in service so I just replied "Really" and immediately got a text saying STOP to which I said stop what. This time #STOP and at this point I said that I doubt it was a real automated message and I got "#leave". So now I'm pretty sure they had no intention of meeting or refunding my deposit for no services rendered.
