Blocked…for no reason?

Someone I had great rapport and vibes with blocked me for absolutely no reason. It was warm, nice energy, plans to meet up, then blocked. No warning, no explanation.

Why would someone do that? Not looking for sympathy but actual possible reasons.

  • There’s a multitude of potential reasons. I would just be grateful and move on.

  • @EnnDub first of all, I wanna say I really get the frustration and confusion. I have had the experience of being ghosted on this platform and others, and it is the not knowing why that can be the most hurtful. Blocking and “unfriending” are a part of social media culture and etiquette I do not relate to. Some conversations just naturally fizzle, but if I am actively deciding to disengage, I typically will say so as a matter of respect, unless the other person is being rude, mean, degrading, insulting, etc.

That said, people do not block for “no reason.” There is always a reason, and it is important to realize that it may very well have nothing to do with you. People’s lives get busy and overwhelming and they just have to step back; perhaps they feel fear, guilt, insecurity, discomfort or ambivalence with intimate sharing. Then again, maybe they don’t vibe with some opinion or political view you expressed, somehow got triggered, or start to perceive some red flag.

A little introspection and self-awareness, and replaying the conversation can sometimes be helpful in learning about yourself and what went wrong. But it is important to realize it is not all about you. Nobody owes you a conversation, and if you choose to engage with strangers on the internet, things will sometimes go sideways. As @Morpheus said, be grateful and move on.

  • Additional comment:

This is a message I received sitting in a coffee shop waiting to meet up with someone after some messaging back and forth for several days.

“I feel terrible but I don't think I can do this. I kept telling myself I could and I'm really sorry I waited till the last second.”

At first, I felt kinda butthurt, but quickly realized I was thankful I had been communicated with. We probably could have vibed in messages for months, but planning to meet made it real, and then the wheels fell off. Sometimes that is just how it goes.

  • I agree with Kansas Dad has expressed.
I'd like to add that if you are a man meeting women, between Emotions and Misperceptions. Can play a part in Decisions.
I've been blocked just for being too KIND. the only thing that I really care about is that when you're booking a hotel Its a financial cost. and who ever your meeting would be Understanding, Courteous, and Kind enough not to let you be in that position to lose financially. Communication, and Honesty. will always be very Appreciated 🤗

  • You cannot even begin to imagine all of the reasons why people block.

However it is rare for it to be about the blockee: it's almost always about the blocker.

    @EnnDub

Sometimes people on the interwebs flake out when the possibility of an actual connection or friendship starts to develop because they prefer the distance and anonymity of interactions online. They consider it safe. They see the possibility of meeting in the real world as an actual threat. Could also mean that they were wanting something from you and once they realized they weren't likely to get that, they moved on. In which case I would say you are probably better off for it.

  • Blocking is trendy👉🖲

Their partner that knew they did this looked through their phone 😳 and made them block you bc you look too similar to their best friend. They just can't have you two connect. It's far from your reality I'm sure, but a reason nevertheless.

Someone in this thread that I’ve never met or talked to has me block 😂 No idea why. People are strange

Join the club. Welcome to the internet where the anonymity of hiding behind a screen is convenient and ghosting is the norm because people are dysfunctional and avoidant, and where mental illness and lack of healthy relationship skills runs amok on full display.

The other thoughts and ideas commented here are valid and may also be potential reasons.

There's no telling. Maybe you misread things and they got creeped out, or they're bf told them to stop talking to you. Or maybe it's a scam profile. This is nothing but pure speculation. You're best just moving on and forgetting about it.

  • I got an email saying a mod blocked a conversation between myself and another user. It was odd, cuz nothing off was said and I never reported anything from what he said. So, it’s possible for that to happen, too?

  • Just move on and forget about it and don't take it personal is all great feedback 👌

  • @CuddlesComfort8 oh wow that's new to me. But maybe likely to be a blessing in disguise

  • @Cuddlesofcuddle : Right? I know if you have a disagreement and report, the mods can block you from each other, but yeah, this was odd. It’s possible he said something to someone else, but I dunno, cuz I think that would result in a ban not a block.

  • @EnnDub I realize I am on the other side of this equation, I am the one who blocks people "for no reason ' I obviously have my reasons, but not necessarily the emotional energy to explain them. 🤷

Some folks are on here to "dip their toe in the water" and see what the place is about, but at heart, are never going to meet anyone in person through this (dating sites are the same way).

  • Sometimes I'll click a profile either just out of curiosity, by accident, or to message them only to find im blocked. I usually attribute it to not liking something I posted, or perhaps I am friends/cuddled with someone they don't like. I dunno. Either way I usually just laugh about it and carry on.

There are the odd occasions where I am blocked by someone who I had been homies with, and that does actually sting a bit. Especially when I don't really know why. All I can do is assume I did something that I am not aware of having done, or that it was them, not me. I know at least once I was blocked because they caught feelings and thought it best that we not talk anymore.

  • I was recently blocked by someone who is not a pro. They asked why I don't have a photo and I said I am just sensitive about having it out there, for now. But once some trust is built up, I happily share photos. They responded by blocking me. Fine, that was her choice, we only had a brief exchange.

I certainly didn't like the warning from the website that if I ever contacted this person again I would be banned. I hadn't done anything to deserve that, it must be a default response when blocked.

In previous conversations with two other people, I discovered after no responses they were banned from the site, that is almost as alarming!

Gotta say this new technology and the trends that come with it may give individuals I don't owe you anything power...ugh. In our journey to evolve into humans, we need to at least behave like them. This blocking for punctuation or for "nobody owes you," vibe is quite disappointing.

A simple conversation can change everything. In another 2 thousand years when we get over our triggers and emotional past, we'll be able to assume the best from each other and as a result get it.

  • They can also choose to not respond (assuming someone isn't spamming them with messages) instead of blocking. What if they blocked me because I live far away (I travel for work) and one day was in their neck of woods? I can't say hi because I was blocked now.

For me personally - I rarely block anyone because I don’t feel the need to expend negative energy towards an online stranger. People here with no photo don’t feel real to me until we interact - because I’m so visual, it’s just small blue square shape on my screen.
But when faceless nothingness is on my viewer list repeatedly it is a little creepy because they are viewing my photos for whatever reason, multiple times.
Like move on to someone you’re actually interested in enough to say hi. It’s clearly not me.
I don’t block them though because it’s not worth the effort.
The few people I have blocked, I did so because they were intentionally offensive in some way and who needs that?

  • Eh I just assume they have a reason that's good enough for them and move on. No use in trying ot figure it out.

I looked at a pro's profile who was in my area because I was going to see a client that they had left a review on and the pro blocked me after that xD Very weird!

There are times when I swear this site is the lounge for Yodas!!! :)

@EnnDub ~ One thought that came was that interacting with you raised that person's vibration so high that something solidified in their life, while they may simply have been looking for comfort by checking this site out...? You did them good... Now, on to more folks who might actually be interested in putting their cuddles where their convos are!!

Learn all you can, about your own non-negotiables, shake it off, and realize that there are oh-so-many other, interesting, fun people here WHO HAVE JOINED THIS SITE TO FIND CUDDLES!!! :)

Honestly, as fun as that one correspondence may have been, that person WASN'T THE ONLY ONE AVAILABLE... Get back in there!! :)

  • @ItsPhysics : The warning is an auto one everyone gets when they are blocked. They also have it because I think you can still see someone who blocked you or you blocked on the forums. People have tried to interact through there, too, I believe.

  • The warning is placed there as a general warning because people block for different reasons but regardless the reason, you are trying to break their boundary by attempting to circumvent and contact them when you've been blocked.

  • I have learned my speculations really are speculations, and I am saying more often now that I don’t know and move on. There are wonderful people and there are perplexing people on this site. I tend to be transparent but not everyone I encounter is as transparent as myself.

  • There’s always a reason.

And no reason is a legitimate reason.

  • Early in my time in this site, I used blocking as a way to remove people from my search results when I had determined that they probably weren't going to work for me. The reasons were practical and had to do with the age range they'd cuddle or some other thing that didn't involve value judgement on my part.

  • @JoyfulHeart Thats exactly what it felt like, a value judgment. It felt punitive. I’m not hung up on it or anything, just quizzical about it.
