Slight variation of an old scam I guess?

So I don't know if you'll recall my post from a few years ago when a cuddle enthusiasts met with me in a park, said she'd love to cuddle when she gets back from a vacation...we texted back and forth while she was on vacation talking about random things, but turns out she was an unregistered pro who doesn't tell you that until after you meet in person and want to cuddle for the second meeting....so ok I guess she needed money and maybe before she didn't need money so didn't think about going pro until after we started meeting up....
but whatever the reason it sucks having someone pull that on you like that.

So flash forward to this past month...and I was talking to someone for quite a while...she kept talking about wanting to meet up and cuddle but had limited time...finally get close to actually setting something up, and she starts talking about how she has money problems, can't even afford food. Of all the text messages, these texts about the various bills and things that she has to pay for suddenly dominate the text thread....once she realizes I'm not taking the bait and offering money...she ghosts me.
LOL oh well :)
just wish she'd be up front from the start and didn't pull this after I wasted some weeks talking to her.

Yeah, that's the classic date scam model. They'll keep making excuses why you can't meet while they ask for more and more money.

  • That's definitely a scam. Did you report her? I know you mentioned that she was unregistered. Does she have an account on here?

Maybe I'm just a sucker, but people need money. If you let it, it will consume everything, thoughts, relationships, don't let money rule you.

It's some kind of balance issue, the people that really need things can't get them and it consumes them. They then pull others into their pool while drowning...Most of us just watch.

The folks that have things assume malice or ill intent. And the thought of getting taken consumes them.

    Just give.

  • Genuine question? Why doesn't that person just become registered as a professional and then charge like all the pro's? Why all the messing around? 🤔

  • Genuine question? Why doesn't that person just become registered as a professional and then charge like all the pro's? Why all the messing around? 🤔

This is just a guess, but perhaps because the person doesn't have a credit card or other payment method that she wants to attach to a pro account for fees, and doesn't want to pay said fees?

  • Definitely just report! They are trying to get around paying CC. and lying to you trying to get you to pay last second.

  • I don't understand why someone keeps making profiles with pics the same woman with nothing for the profile. When you message them they try to get your# to spam you

  • Are you being scammed? Did you receive the cuddle you paid for?

  • CC is a nexus for cuddlers to meet. Always report untagged pros. If folks don't follow the rules, they get escorted to Banned Camp, regardless of karma, Pro status, or longevity on CC.

Just because someone talks about money troubles doesn't necessarily mean they are trying to charge you for their time or scam you though, or that they expect you to do anything about it. Not saying that's not the case here, I just don't feel that it is at its core a nefarious thing when people do that. Lord knows some of my friends have heard me whine an earful lately about funds lol

  • I saw a great piece today about scammers and con artists. And the author was being interviewed about the classic scams, the tactics. and how con artists draw people in with some fairly sophisticated manipulation. Here's an article about the book:

    https://www.publishersweekly.com/9780593797167

The book is called "Anatomy of a Con Artist: The 14 Red Flags to Spot Grifters, Schemers, and Thieves"

Some people have hard times, sure. And some find their way out of their situation through luck, help, or hard work. While others might look at their bad fortune and feel like society owes them something, or they're going to do to others the slights and wrongs that been done unto them. It's sad. But it's not an excuse to use other people. But they're counting on some to be dupes that they can use. And they take to heart the immortal words of P.T. Barnum, "A fool and his money are soon parted".

  • As someone who's going through a rough financial patch, I understand what people are saying. However, to me it does seem like a scam. I'm not sure, but it sounds like it.

Anyways...a few years ago I met someone on fb and we actually met a few times...but I she would often tell me how she didn't have enough money left for food that day, so she was going to make one egg last for the whole day. So I felt bad and send her groceries from amazon fresh. She was thankful, but then I she would complain about some of the things I sent saying she wanted something different. So I sent her what she asked for....but then a few months later after this was becoming a monthly thing I was spending too much money on it I tried an experiment and told her that I was struggling to pay bills this month, so I couldn't buy anything extra....so I skipped sending her groceries.
Sure enough within 2 weeks, she made an excuse of why we should stop seeing eachother, and poof...she broke up with me. it was a long distance relationship...every time I visited her, I would go with her to the grocery store and fill her fridge up with stuff. I just couldn't stand to see her go hungry because I was starting to care about her.

Why you getting upset ? If you read my post I was not attacking or contradicting you. I was making a general statement and even said that I'm not necessarily saying that it is the case with your experience, which means that what you are stating in your thread could very well be true. Didn't disagree with you. I merely offered another vantage point.

    no personal attacks. - Stormy

We too grown for interwebs arguments. Happy cuddling

  • I'm a pro cuddler, nothing is hidden about it. Yet on my end of things, I OFTEN come across this problem with people trying to gain free sessions or...liberties. I've had people cancel or stop cuddling with me because I don't accept their request to date. I've had people try to find out if/when I might have another cuddle scheduled to try and force me into cutting my price for them.

Just saying, these very unappreciated games get played on both sides.
