    Zyrtec for runny noses paired with Dayquil that I take as soon as allowed to help with cough

  • Besides the normal pharmacy stuff, fluids and rest, I like to take fermented garlic honey that I prepare.

  • @Maverick07
    Now I’m curious, would you share your recipe?

  • I drink a hot mixture of water, salt, lemon, honey, and ginger (powder). It tastes like a magnificent broth, I call it my sick broth haha

  • Take Zicam or just pound a bunch of zinc the moment you start feeling the least bit sick. Zinc inhibits a virus ability to reproduce.

  • @g_w_t_w yes, of course, it is really easy!
    Just place peeled garlic cloves in a jar, and cover them with honey. Put the lid on, and once or twice a day, turn the jar upside down to coat the cloves better (they tend to rise while not fully fermented), and burp the jar 1-2x per day as well. It is recommended to use organic garlic and honey but I don’t see a difference if they are not. It is basically ready when no more gas is produced and the gloves sink into the honey. Enjoy!

    Thanks for sharing, hope I don’t need to use it!

    @TxTom Good Lord, we're talking remedies not pouring hot 🔥 lava down your throat. 🥵

    Lol 😆

    Seriously, that works for You against the flu for you, Tom? 😁👍

  • @Katota I very rarely get sick from a flu, cold, or cough. I "cough that up" to having good genes. When it is something, it's usually sinus congestion. Ghost pepper soup clears that right up.

    Sort of like liquid blowtorch.

    Yes, it really hurts going down, but as the Marines used to say, "pain is weakness leaving the body."

    @TxTom Well, I still get acute sinusitis🤧 from time to time...So may I give it a try, I know that Ghost Peppers are burning hot anyway! 🥵

    Sort of like liquid blowtorch.

    😆😆😆😆

    I'll think of You, as I gulp MOST of it down. 🥵😆

  • For sudden onset of cold/flu, I rely on homeopathic remedy Aconite (Aconitum Napellus). This is MOST effective within 24 hours of the sudden onset when you're still sneezing a lot. It prevents it from developing into full blown cold/flu. Also drink at least 3 packets of Emergen-C daily. By the 2nd day you will start to feel better. I use a lot of holistic homeopathy & herbal supplements. I rarely get sick.

  • I make human sacrifices to the gods. Don’t know if it helps, but it does keep the portion of the population that annoys me under control. This alone alleviates illness anxiety.

  • Zinc acetate lozenges at the first onset of symptoms. My experience is it stops the cold from progressing. I’m usually back to normal by the next morning. Only this form of zinc in the ionized state is shown to be effective.

  • Tequila, lemon, honey, and a dash of pepper.

    @Sideon

    Ah so that's why you are always drinking tequila, because you're sick? Man i would get that checked up on 😂

  • @pmvines - direct quote from MY mom to me, growing up: "If it's not one thing, it's your mother." ;)

    @sideon
    So I'm your mother now ? I thought I was your straight platonic boyfriend. I guess I am many things

  • @pmvines - just yankin' your chain. My mom and grandma had tons of "tonics" for colds.

  • I might sound insane but other than the over the counter medicines. I like to mix lemon/lime,Honey and salt for my throat. It helps soften it and clear it off from the mucus that might be stuck.
