I just want to praise my furbaby today.
I have two cats, Chewie (female) and Finn (male) (Yes, we named them after Star Wars characters).
I had a session earlier today, and this was from a different cuddle site. He came over. About maybe 20 minutes in, I felt a light paw at my leg. I looked and Chewie was pawing at me. Now, she NEVER does this. During cuddles, she’s always somewhere else. But this cuddle, she was right next to me, on the ottoman staring at the both of us. I noticed the cuddler moving his hand up to my breast at this time and the guy pulled away when I moved to look at Chewie.
This kept happening. He would move his hand towards a no-no area and Chewie would paw at me and meow. Chewie was freaking out throughout. Meowing at him, meowing above him and in the corner, etc. She could tell the energy wasn't good. She was even glaring at him, the when she shifts her eyes at me for a few, then turns back to him.
I realized what she was doing. Due to trauma, whenever I get touched inappropriately (except my husband) I freeze and disassociate. This happened during an assault back in November last year. Chewie was keeping me aware, keeping me from disassociating. I was so focused on her, I was able to tell him not to do that. The guy tried one more time, and the only reason I was fully aware wa
s because my attention was on Chewie, I was petting her. For the remainder of the time, the guy didn’t touch me, as he was clearly frustrated at Chewie. He got up and left (He had paid me before the cuddle).
I got up, picked her up, thanked her and gave her a lot of kisses (which she hated, lol). Tomorrow I’m definitely going to get something for her as a treat. She was protecting me.
This is my little fuzzball princess.
