Are you friends with your cuddle buddy or buddies? If something happened and you were down do you think you could call on them or help or at least a cuddle to make it easier?
I am friends with folks I have met on here, in fact some are among my closest peeps! That being said, there are also lots of fair weather friends, casual aquaintances, and people who you think are your besties until the end just to go away. Ride or dies until they just aren't anymore. So I do find myself being pretty disappointed and sad sometimes. Which I don't feel is anything that unique considering it's an internet site, and plus people's situations, needs, and lives are ever evolving. So if you put in the work and keep your expectations and attachments in check you can find some really great people here who you can count on, and I am thankful for the connections I've made here and to CC for linking me with people all over the country who I would not otherwise know exist.
My goal here is to make connections. And I think I’ve met several people I would hope I could call forever friends.
I’m sure I could count on them in a pinch for an uplifting phone call or a distraction. Cuddles in a pinch are hard just cause everyone is busy.
But as far as my inner most vulnerabilities, my guard is up pretty high on all of it. There are very very few people in this world who will know them. 🤷♀️
Yes.
Yes! I've made some really good friends from the site! I can't imagine cuddling with someone who I didn't consider a friend, personally. Two in particular--we've been there for each other multiple times over the 3 years I've been on here. To listen and give advice as well as offering comfort with cuddles and hugs. I consider them some of my best friends. ❤️🫂
Well considering I can read minds the answer is yes. And yes, my application to the X-Men is pending approval.
I’ve had one or two old cuddle partners (long since moved away) contact me out of the blue when they’ve been going through something difficult - they obviously felt there was a deeper, enduring friendship they could call on.
But I’ve also experienced situations where I thought a friendship had developed with a regular cuddle partner, but which only lasted for a season, where there is no desire by them to chat offline unless it results in a meeting (and thus, an exchange of cash).
I’ve only ever met delightful people here on CC, but everyone’s different. For me, the friendship is an essential component, but some Pros seem to prefer keeping a professional distance. That’s ok with me, but it’s an indicator that it won’t be a long-lived cuddle relationship, as I enjoy that friendship component so much.
Yes, several have become friends. That’s my intention along with cuddling.
They cant be friends if they are still charging you for cuddles.
This is a complex question. These only reflect my own experiences and opinions. Btw, (about me) my full time job is home care for the elderly, including hospice. Meaning that I humbly take care of very special people literally all the time. Anyways, when I worked for Arthur Murray Dance Studio we were advised never to go out socially dancing with the students because it would diminish how special the experience was to take dance lessons in the ballroom studio and lessen participants enthusiasm for AM sponsored events. So as a professional cuddle provider this approach makes a bit of sense. As to the OP of whether reaching out to a cuddle buddy (in my case client) for an extra hug or support. When I'm going through something- Well, I'm primarily a supportive uplifting energy. When I want to lean on someone, I have that in my family and personal relationships. I might feel weak or like a poor provider if I broke down in front of a cuddle client! Any repeat cuddle buddies I see, we have a catch up talk in the beginning of a cuddle session, usually with a softening hand massage and taking turns sharing. I really really like my cuddle friends and community. But I don't think when I let my sad and worry out... I just wouldn't do that to a cuddle partner!
@pmvines peep! 🤗
One of my best friends is a regional manager of a grocery store chain but I don’t get my groceries for free.
Friendship has nothing to do with one’s occupation and getting something for free has nothing to do with it either.
Absolutely! One of my most trusted friends is a cuddle buddy! He's driven me 3 hours to my house to drop me off at the crack ass of dawn. Good humans are good humans, regardless of how you meet them. I hope I meet more wonderful people!
Unfortunately not anymore 😕 I thought he would have been a best friend forever. But he got into a relationship and now no more public outings or phone calls for me. Keeping me as a friend wasn't cheating but eh, It's all good 😎🤗✨️
@pmvines You said it, Friend! 😄
And when I meet my Werewolf, we are still gonna be friends. 😁
I will no longer "dump friendships" just cuz "Ooh, she gotsa manz" nonsense!🤦🙄
When people dump my friendship due to getting into romantic relationships/marriages blah blah blah and said marriage/relationship ENDS and then want to "reach out" to me months to YEARS LATER...I ignore them 😊and keep moving, see MY friendship doesn't work like that. 😑🤚
@Katota - Same here. Anyone who doesn't maintain a friendship then suddenly wants to drop back in months or years later sounds like they're looking for convenience, a favor or otherwise to use me. That's clearly not a friend, and I have no time for it.
Unfortunately, a lot of times when people drop friends after marriage, it's because their partner insists on it. A lot of people are fundamentally insecure and it comes out as jealousy.
This is such a complex topic. I’ve made some close connections through CC. Some I definitely would consider friends.
However, I don’t have the time or energy to constantly maintain contact with every person I meet offline through the site. And that tends to put a strain on some of the “friendships”.
I try to explain this upfront to anyone before meeting them. In fact, for the most part, I don’t give out my contact info, even when a session is booked. My life is constantly on the go for a number of reasons. While I absolutely adore my clients & would love to just be able to stay in contact always, it’s just not realistically possible.
As it is, from personal experience, if I ever end up in a relationship, trying to explain this aspect of my life would be difficult.
@TheFunCartel
Right again!
I mean… I don’t expect a pro to seek or encourage a friendship with me. And if the only time you see a pro is during a paid session, that isn’t a friendship.
But to say you can’t be friends with a pro unless they waive their fees for you!
Pish posh!
I stay friendly with a few people I’ve cuddled that we just clicked really well. Lots of awesome people on the site!
As a potential client (not pro) I don't see myself ever reaching out.
Availability, time, attention, and some emotional investment is the product that the professional is offering. It'd be silly to downright idiotic of me to request that without cash in hand. Testing the boundaries on that is timewaster behavior.
I have gained a friend or two from cuddling. Everybody has their own boundaries. The cuddle pro I see the most will stop in occasionally for chats and we have swapped gardening equipment, plants and stories. She gave me some grow lights. We text daily and know what's going on in each other's lives.. I still pay her for cuddles because if she was a massage therapist you would pay that professional for their service, but you can still be friends. Long story short, I prefer to be friends but still will cuddle with other professionals sometimes.
Even as a pro, I consider a couple people friends that I have cuddled with and two I haven't met yet! 😊🫂 At least 1 or 2 of them I think I could call on them if I was down as we have vented to each other.
To piggy back on my previous comment there are certainly some people who I used to be close with from here whose friendship I miss because we just don't really talk anymore. That's probably the hardest part, getting close to someone and then you start hearing less and less from them without any real precipitating reason. Interwebs aquaintances are one thing, kinda expected to happen, but when you're friends off the web it's different.
I feel like I might get shot down for this.... As an enthusiast, I had cuddle buddies that I could hang out with and be friends. As a Pro, this doesn't work out for me at all. There are many reasons for this, but the main one being, If cuddlers start a "friendship" and get emotionally involved, they don't want to pay for professional services anymore. I"m very "block happy" as you will have noticed. I have "clients" I give them 120 percent of my attention and then I move on. 🤷😉
Yes, he’s a very good friend. If he were in a relationship or married, I’d respectfully keep my distance—and I believe he would do the same. It’s not about cutting someone off, it’s about respecting boundaries.
I’d most likely like to keep my friendships and cuddle clients separate for my own personal reasons.
@TheFunCartel you must be a fool to expect free groceries from him. There is a difference between owning a place and running a place.
you must be a fool to expect free groceries from him.
@roni56 You must be a fool to think I expected free groceries. I never said I did. I have a few friends that own their own business—I don’t expect free stuff from them either. Run or own doesn’t matter—if you believe you can never be friends with someone you pay services for, then that is sad.
I owned my own business for years and didn’t give away free stuff to friends. That’s because most people do not predicate their friendships on what they can get for free. That limits your options. So I still disagree with your take that you can never be friends with a pro. That’s the problem with blanket statements—blankets develop holes.
I'm friends with many of the pro cuddlers where we keep in contact outside of cuddling. We talk about life, ask how each other's day was, etc.
