This is just a little bit of venting but I’ve just had to cancel an upcoming session for next week because the person I was suppose to cuddle has now found religion and to top it all off I have begin the process of getting a colonoscopy because my mother just some polyps removed and she me and my brother to get one asap sorry about this I just needed to vent

    Yeah, a colonoscopy will make you do that. Especially if you wake up during the procedure.

    @alz480 Maybe getting in a joking mood would be a good thing to do. Neither of those issues you mentioned are life threatening or even remotely serious. People on cuddling sites lose cuddling opportunities quite frequently and a colonoscopy is a common procedure performed many times daily around the world. Just take a breath and chill. No harm has been done to you IMO.

    Even if your mom had some polyps, they generally only have people 50 yrs and older to get a colonoscopy. But since you have started already good luck

    @Ironman294 Recommended age has been dropped to 45 and they also look at family history when recommending them.

    Only major issues I ever had with colonoscopies were 1) finding someone to drive me home and 2) all that fasting craters my blood sugar. Last time, they had to be me an IV before they could do the procedure.

    Awe that's no fun at all. Have you ..Yes it is common to lose cuddle opportunities and at a certain age these things (medical tests) are just a fact of life. Doesn't make it anymore pleasant to experience and sometimes we just want a little comfort. 🫂🫂I hope you are able to set up something else with a person. Don't give up. It will be ok.

    @alz480 Your feelings of anxiety before going to get a colonoscopy are normal/valid . A common procedure , yet, very necessary and can be lifesaving if cancerous polyps are found/removed early. I applaud 👏 you for taking this step. The majority of cases affect pts over 50…. As an Oncology RN , I have seen cases of colorectal/colon cancer in pts as young as 25 ( though very rare) and this type of cancer has been on the rise amongst 30, 40 year olds since the 90’s. Early detection/prevention is 🔑 .. healthy diet, regular exercise, limit alcohol and no smoking ! I wish you luck , my prayers are with you and your family 😊

    A colonoscopy sounds scarier than it actually is. The fact that polyps were removed and you were alerted is actually a blessing—many people don’t get that kind of warning. I’m not dismissing your feelings, just encouraging you to see the lighter side.

    And finding another buddy—or even hiring someone—shouldn’t be too hard.

    The worst part of a colonoscopy is the prep. Unfortunately, it's a necessary procedure for us all these days. Necessary and potentially lifesaving.

    I had a colonoscopy. Total non-event. The secret is to ask for, "maxiumum extra double sedation please". Apart from the prep obviously, that was the unpleasant bit. (Cataclysmic quantities of laxatives.) But worse things happen at sea.

    When I say 'non-event' I mean the actual procedure itself. In my case I was diagnosed on the spot with a malignant tumour, which defined my life for the next couple of years, but you know what I mean.

    I am due for my third. Hope they go as well as my first two…not so much as a polyp and received the 10 year reprieve. But I have always tried to stay away from fatty foods like burgers, fried foods etc.

    I'm on the five year plan myself. Think I've got my third one coming up next year. All have been uneventful. Had some polyps removed the first time, nothing to worry about, they said. I think about the procedure as a nice nap in the middle of a bunch of strangers.

    I've had more of these than I care to remember due to having Crohn's Disease, and always have an endoscopy as well during the procedure (down the throat into stomach ). The prep part is the worst part of it but hey, at least you'll come out a few pounds lighter !

    Unless there’s some medical reason, not to, insist that they give you propofol as the anesthesia. Even if it costs extra.

    Agree with the folks saying that the preparation is the worst. Then, my experience was a real solid nap. However, just before start pumping the anesthetic in, the doctor asked if I had a will sone - but I blacked out before I could say “WTF?”.
