When it comes to things that don't affect my demographic, whether that be LGBTQ issues, women's issues, ethnicity issues etc, I tend to allow the person who is of that demographic to be the authority in how they are personally impacted and perceive something. It ain't easy being a straight professional white dude, shouldering all this privilege and all.
