Oh goodness I hate them all so thoroughly but I'm a domestic flyer and never loyal
My global entry interview was just confirming my personal information. I wasn't asked any questions. I was grateful....but confused lol. But it is definitely a great perk to have if you travel internationally.
I flew Turkish airlines recently and had a wonderful experience. Air France is usually good for me as well. I’m not as big of a fan of domestic airlines in the US.
I'll be flying Japan Airlines Business Class in a couple of months. I'm definitely excited for that experience
@VirtualCuddler I agree. When you fly international airlines it definitely exposes the gaps that the US airlines have

I took a look at ANA and their premium economy class is equivalent to first class on a US airliner.
Delta First Class seems to be just OK overall. Like it’s definitely better than sitting in economy but not by much on domestic flights (I know international flights have a way better first class). If you can get a relatively good fare for it I’d say go for it, but sometimes I feel like they definitely overcharge for it depending on when and where you go. I was looking at tickets to Phoenix from Orlando in mid-November and the comfort+ (premium economy) seats were about $500-700 but most first class tickets were over $2000! Cheapest flight was a red eye flight which I might take since it’s scheduled to land after midnight.
I’m at LAX right now flying out to Dallas. In the aftermath of a year spent dealing with cancer, I never got a real ID and my passport expired so I was nervous about flying today. I get to TSA checking, they say you don’t have a real ID so you’ll have to go through additional screening. I was like oh crap, all that happened was that a TSA employee walked me over to where you put your stuff in the tray and walk through the body scanner and then she walked away and didn’t ask me anything lol I got here way too early anticipating an issue and nothing happened.
United Airlines recent experience (I traveled for 5 weeks straight and the flights were almost all either delayed or cancelled): I was flying back from Calgary to Milwaukee via Chicago, and the night before (Thursday) I got a text that the 1st flight was cancelled. It was a nightmare to find someone on the phone (the 1K premier line doesn't really work when you're outside US). The only way to get home on Friday was to go Calgary-San Francisco-Houston-Milwaukee (seriously!), and of course, basically middle seats in the back of the plane. The next day, Saturday, I was heading to London via Newark (thus, the need to get back from Canada still on Friday). 1st flight got delayed (eventually cancelled) and had to make a decision to ask the gate agent to get me a seat on another flight from Chicago to London, and Uber to the O'Hare to be on time. And I had to fight for days to have the Uber fare reimbursed...! Fly Delta!
The very 1st time thru TSA with shoes staying on …. Yep alarms went off and had to take off shoes and wait for them to go thru the luggage screening lol 😆
TSA precheck is well worth it, although it’s kind of annoying that you now have CLEAR, which takes even more priority
Gotta agree about Cathay, from my few experiences as a kid in the 90s.
For Canadian local flights I only ever remember having a decent time on WestJet.
(The ViaRail is always fun, but I guess that would be another thread.)
JetBlue for domestic economy— their seats are the comfiest imo. They are frequently delayed though. but give out travel point vouchers like candy! lol so I just plan accordingly.
Singapore Airlines is top tier. Their first class is something to experience. Air France is second.
I keep hearing Qatar is the best. I definitely need to check out more of the international airlines. Maybe bilt will help me build miles with one
Orlando Int’l Airport (MCO) I swear has the worst baggage claim system ever, at least the worst I’ve experienced. The conveyer belts they use are the same ones I remember as a kid from the early 90s and I wouldn’t be surprised if they haven’t been changed since the airport opened in the 70s. In other airports I usually get my luggage fairly quickly like within five minutes of getting to baggage claim but in Orlando I’m waiting about 40 on average. The carousels are past their useful life and this is the second time just this year (I’ve gone on five flights) that the carousel the belt broke down due to too much luggage being on the belt and the door the luggage comes out from getting bottlenecked and they have to move all the bags that haven’t come out yet to another carousel. I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens daily considering how many people fly into Orlando.

@disneysamurai I avoid Orlando’s airport at all costs. One of my least favorite airports. Tampa, on the other hand, is a pleasure to fly in and out of.
@TheFunCartel Yes, Tampa has a way better airport.
@SpaceGoat yep on top of the parking gate EPASS exit not working so there was a huge bottle neck in those lines. Cars kept having to be diverted to other lanes. Sounds like it’s easier to just pull a ticket and pay manually.
Maybe Las Vegas of course. Any airport that’s has those Minute Suites is always good too👍
Depends on the destination. United leg room needed. If its available for my destination in prefer not tango to the major airports. Right now though id rather road trip die to the shortage of flight controllers. Ill never forget how much respect I had after watching pushing tin...
I’m hearing that right now is not a good time to fly. Good thing I have no plans to fly until at least February.

I will hope to return to S Korea in February. Haven’t booked a flight but all my miles are on American so that’s probably what it will be but I’d rather a different Airline, maybe Korean Air. Has anyone here tried that airline?

JetBlue for the legroom! I'm just a gentle giant who likes to fly comfortably lol. Delta is cool too!
The furthest I've flown is from Texas to Madrid and it was hell for my knees and legs so I prefer any airline that can spare extra legroom. I always end up the exit seat guy too for the same reason lol.
I like Alaska Airline. I have to admit though that I haven't flown in about 10 years

@disneysamurai I’ve heard the same about Korean air. And that food is really good. Honestly every flight there and back on AA has been great, no real complaints. But it’s a 14 hr flight with no leg room. Not comfortable at all and I’m short.
Singapore Airlines is unbeatable. Their miles program is worthwhile too.
Their service, attention to detail, food, inflight entertainment, inflight amenities, website experience, checkin counter service,etc.. basically everything is top notch.
I used to travel about 3 weeks a year on business. I was happy with Delta. Only weather related nightmares, but the airline did their part to make those instances the best possible.
