Ya know what I DID mention PLATONICALLY in my profile, I really have been tweaking my profile. Lol ๐
Tweaking so much that I overlooked it! ๐๐๐
@Katota Ok, thank you for the advice.
If there's even a hint of anything inappropriate through messaging I won't meet with them at all.
Unfortunately, I have had that happen in person more than once. I report after but I wish I could prevent it from happening in the first place.
@MTex It's not great advice, I know...๐
And I can't tell you anymore then what you already know to do. Be safe out there! ๐ซ
@Katota @mauvefox You ladies be safe too ๐ค
@MTex i would keep them there but then I just reiterate everything in my messaging with them again ๐คทโโ๏ธ
non-platonic activities such as kissing or shirtless cuddles
Well I donโt push for shirtless cuddles, but I am insistent on shitless cuddles. My olfactory systems thank you for your compliance to this one request.
@mauvefox Thank you for the advice! I'm going to keep the red flags list as a deterrent.๐ค๐ผ
@MTex for what itโs worth, Iโve had similar conversations with cuddlers about what they do to foster safe and enjoyable cuddles, and deter those who would push boundaries. Most of them have done something similar to what youโve done.
The compiled โbest practicesโ theyโve shared is that they speak to two audiences.
The first is they state what they are looking for and offer. I call this the positive appeal. The second is what they arenโt looking for and will not tolerate. I call this the warning.
Each of them felt that it did a better job of filtering for more positive experiences. But no system will address all; your careful vetting process and personal judgment are still your best tools.
I wish you success and many happy cuddles!
@lovingspoonfull Thank you for the advice & well wishes.
yeah. @Sooson , I'm not a pro... and even though there are multiple people who have come repeatedly and a lot for some of them.. and they never even friend me let alone give me karma or any public feedback.
I know when I was new I had an oof in the forums for being overreaction on some post about people who don't respond back. I don't think I realized then how many messages you can get from people you may not want to process or don't seem genuine.
@Katota love that skeletor meme ๐คฃ o man... pretty soon I'm gonna turn into the barronness from gijoe. haven't dyed my hair black since my 20s. it's usually red or purple. sometimes phoenix fire. I'm due to get new frames end of the month.... I should get some in anticipation of this
Hi folks... I may well be the least active cuddler on this thread, but I'm probably the oldest one. ๐๐ As such, I'll offer my 2 cents regarding the question of what platonic means (i.e. what it means to me). As we all know, the term platonic goes back to Plato - and its useage has changed somehat over the years. As far as our CC site - I believe that when a woman indicates "platonic only", she is trying to send a clear signal to men that she does not want - nor will she tolerate - cuddling behavior that seeks or quickly leads to sexual gratification. (I'm ignoring the rare cases of woman who use that term as "code", since I dont believe there's much of that on CC, and the overwhelming use of that term is in the sense I just mentioned.) To continue addressing the original question of why SOME men might try to initiate sexual behavior when the female made it clear in advance she would not tolerate it -- Well, there are many possible answers to that question. In no particular order - Consider the fact that most men who cuddle feel the need or desire to be close to a woman: emotionally and physically. If some of those men are in close physical proximity to an attractive, warm nurturing woman - and lets say she's around his own age - its not a stretch to understand how romantic thoughts cross his mind. This is pretty basic to male thinking. But it is clearly not always the case...
In fact, I suspect that the majority of men who use CC understand that they need to stay focused on the simple comfort of proximity and touch: and nothing more.
But there can also be the situation where a badly-intentioned man will attempt sexual advances. In these cases the woman should terminate the session at the very first sign of his bad behavior. In this man's eyes, a woman's tolerance of his subtle attempts to get inappropriately physical - or her willingness to give him "a second chance" - are likely to be viewed by him as "permission" to keep trying.
This ends my two cents...
