Rooms for rent by the hour around Milwaukee

Sorry is this is a weird topic.

I’ve tried looking into this on my own and haven’t had much luck. I can’t host and many other potential cuddlers also seem like they can’t. Without getting a hotel, does anyone in the Milwaukee area know of any good place where you can rent a bed for just a few hours?

    This is actually a fairly common problem, so not weird!

    I can't speak for Milwaukee in particular, but I've had luck in my neck of the woods with the DayUse app and with co-working spaces that have private study rooms.

    Usually the "by the hour" places are gonna be somewhat seedy, for obvious reasons. Some big cities do have day use hotels but from what I've seen the discount isn't significant enough to choose them over a regular hotel.

    Look on dayuse.com or hotelsbyday.com - it's not "by the hour", but you get what you pay for. A day use hotel room is usually much higher quality than a 'by the hour' place.

    Mattress stores in some areas are offering dream rooms for a fee for a few hours to test mattresses on site with clean linens. Others offer private appointments

    If they are doing this out in the far reaches of the burbs ( more like out in the country with only a ten minute drive to the burbs) in Grain Valley, MO, then certainly there are some in the cities.

    And then there are theaters everywhere now that offer seating that reclines into a bed and many have love seat styled reclining as well.

    Before I had my own cuddle space I would use hot wire hot deals. If you aren’t picky about where you stay you can book really cheap and it tells you what hotel you get after you pay it came out being pretty inexpensive most of the time

    Try dayuse. You can get a normal hotel by the hour or for a few hours. It’s not seedy like a motel and it’s certainly understandable why one may not be comfortable hosting at home.

    The plus about dayuse is you can check in earlier since airbnb and hotels usually have you check in at 2 or 3pm.

    In my area the cheapest ok quality motel js $80 a night but a 6 hour window with dayuse is also $80 but a significantly better, safer and cleaner hotel.

    And DayUse usually lets you cancel as early as a few hours before your booking for free.

    I just “googled” DayUse app. It’s been around since 2010 !!! 😳. I’ve never had to use the app but I thought it was like a really new thing ! Wild !

    If you are not into booking online or paying with a card, call some hotels or motels in your area and ask if they have short stay rates. There is a decent motel in my area that is $60 for up to four hours.

    Just a PSA:
    Having worked in hotels for 16+ years, I would be exceedingly skeptical of any smaller locations that are offering hourly and midday rates. The hotel industry already fought the whole DayUse thing because the logistics of keeping staff on hand to clean rooms and turn them around to sell in the evening is a nightmare. I'd be concerned where corners are being cut.

    I'm not a snob when it comes to hotel/motel ratings and amenities, but I absolutely am super critical of hotel cleanliness, having cleaned and inspected rooms myself and seen exactly what gets skipped or half-assed when time and/or staff is short.

    Also - please tip your housekeepers! They don't nearly make enough for the literal shit they deal with.
