Healing Hands

[Deleted User]DeeMac (deleted user)

Hello. I am looking for people with whom to practice Healing Hands. Healing Hands is known by other names, such as Healing Touch, and it is an ancient practice. I channel energy into and through my body, and the energy flows out through my palms. I place my palms upon a recipient, and the energy flows to where it is needed. Especially when working with someone for the first time, it is best for that person to either sit in a chair or lie face down while I place my palms on his or her upper back approximately between the shoulder blades. This is not a massage, my hands simply rest upon the person. As the recipient, you just relax while I maintain the flow of energy. The healing session can last for as long as I am able to maintain the flow or until you are ready for it to end. It is best to avoid skin to skin contact for this practice; the energy actually flows better if there is a light cotton barrier between my palms and your back. The barrier can be a cotton t-shirt, towel, and or sheet, but natural fibers are a must.

About me: I am a forty six year old man of medium height and build. I look like I exercise regularly, but I don't look like I go to a gym every day. Generally, I am in good health and quite clean. I dress casually, have long hair, and a trimmed beard. My ability to do this comes from more than thirty years of practice with yoga, chi gung and the martial arts. Furthermore, I seem to have some natural predisposition to this, just as some people are natural musicians or artists.

I am a studious Christian. Everything I do is viewed through a Christian lens. Healing Hands is mentioned numerous times in the Holy Bible. I interpret the Healing Hands experience as an aspect of Holy Spirit that transfers from the practitioner to the recipient. I am merely a vessel for and a conduit of Holy Spirit. I am not like the charismatic Christian healers you might have seen. With me, the healing experience is calm, quiet, and focused. While it is the mission of true Christians to spread the Word, I would never sermonize at anyone. We can talk about Christianity after the healing session or not at all. Healing Hands is offered to everyone.

We can talk about whatever you like after the healing session, but I prefer to keep the talking to a minimum before the healing session. During the session, I will only talk to check in with you once in awhile. To practice, I require an environment that is as clean, quiet, and free from distraction as possible. Ruinous distractions include loud noise, phone calls, smoke/pet odors, and heavy fragrances. Other people are welcome to be in the room, and I encourage this if they help you to relax. I only ask that they not be a distraction for either of us, nor be overtly skeptical. I expect everyone to be a little skeptical, but an open mind is a prerequisite.

If this is of interest to you, please reply. I will be happy to answer whatever questions you have. Thank you.

  • This sounds cool. Wish I wasn’t so far away!

  • Oh you are in California :(

Sincere thanks to AndiCuddles and angela10 for your kind replies. I rarely post anything on the internet. I have had bad experiences and it seems so sterile. It is nice to know that I am connecting with real people.

  • Some questions: 'Healing' is a very vague term, what exactly does it mean in this case? What does the energy do that is channeled into someones body? Does it just change someone's mental outlook or does it have physical effects? And, lastly, is this treatment required just once or is a course of multiple treatments needed?

  • @UKGuy - "Energy work" is not science based but is, rather, faith based. It's long been known and is well documented that humans and other mammals are known to respond positively to focused attention and gentle touch. That's what it is, except sometimes there's no touch involved. Whatever benefit perceived to be derived from it is an outgrowth of that - essentially a placebo effect. Nothing wrong with that but, unfortunately, energy workers often have a habit of making unsupportable claims and exaggerating the benefits.

    @UKGuy:

Some questions: 'Healing' is a very vague term, what exactly does it mean in this case?

I agree, 'Healing' is a vague term; vague because it is so broad. In a nutshell, this is what it means to me: Over the course of my life I have transformed physically, mentally, and emotionally, and I have transformed radically - there is really no question about this. I used to look like E.T., I now look like a strong and capable adult man. These transformations are the result of real dedicated practice - practice that yields an increase and refinement of energy. In a real sense, I do grow younger, wiser, handsomer, healthier and stronger every day - but only if I work at it. I also 'heal' in another real sense - cuts stop bleeding and infection clears away - with increasing speed and efficiency as my energy level increases. My energy level increases as my skill level in this sort of work improves and as I diligently apply myself to energy cultivation. Whether lifting a barbell, holding a yoga posture, moving through a martial arts form, reading a challenging book, or healing an ear infection, it is all the same energy at work.

What does the energy do that is channeled into someone's body?

The energy from the practitioner blends with and increases the energy already present in the recipient. In my experience, human energy, which I consider to be of divine origin, can run low, be refilled, and be transferred from person to person similarly to blood, but without the invasiveness or the limitations of specific types. At the level of "raw" energy, I am curious to know if there is compatible versus incompatible energy types. I suspect not. I suspect that human energy is human energy. I suspect that compatibility/incompatibility are the results of other factors. Part of my motivation in offering this is to learn more about energetic compatibility.

Does it just change someone's mental outlook or does it have physical effects?

Both, and more besides. Over the course of my life, I transformed from sickly, mean, and stupid to healthy, kind, and wise. In my experience, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health are all wrapped up together.

And, lastly, is this treatment required just once or is a course of multiple treatments needed?

It is similar to working out. The benefits of one single workout might, in theory, last forever but gradually diminish over time, whereas the benefits of continuous workouts build on each other. It is also like giving someone a fish compared to teaching someone to fish. When people are down they need a hand up. Help only comes from above. However, I believe that cultivating energy is a skill available to most if not all average people. Remember, I am a Christian. Though not all Christians agree, I believe, as George Fox the founder of the Quakers believed, that Holy Spirit, of which this energy is one small aspect, is available to everybody.

Thank you very much for these great questions. Answering them has helped me organize my own thoughts. I would like to add that I am offering this practice completely free of charge and I am offering it so that I might learn more about it myself. So, if anyone reading this is in the Oakland California area and wants to give it a try, please get in touch.

  • I would be in for that but the story of my life is I am so far away! ?

  • I would also be so up for this if we weren't on opposite coasts :(

Thank you CreativeCuddles and PinkLipstick22. If either of you find yourselves in Northern California, look me up. I'm probably not going anywhere anytime soon.

  • I most definitely will!

  • Someone already mentioned this, but it sounds like energy work and from my own cuddle experience, and other energy work practices, it sounds like something similar to what I am already engaged in. I myself am around the LA/OC area so I wouldn't mind being practiced on or vice versa.

  • [Deleted User]DeeMac (deleted user)

@stellarosass, Thank you very much! LA/OC is pretty far from where I am, but it's a lot closer than some of the other people who have expressed an interest. (It's a 5-6 hour drive in good traffic.) If you would like, please send me a private message so I can give you my personal email. Then maybe we can connect someday. I do occasionally get down there for some reason.

I just recently decided to go public with this. Posting on creativecuddles.com is my first attempt at getting my feet wet. So, your interest means a lot. Sincere thanks to everyone who has expressed an interest.
