Hi… I’m in Florida. I’m Hawaiian and obviously do not celebrate Thanksgiving. Anyone else out there? I usually am working in the hospital. But off tomorrow. Trying to find someone nearby.
I opt for fried chicken and mash or a ribeye steak. Does that count as not celebrating?
@Buffy8371 I understand not celebrating if you are Hawaiian. I wouldn’t either. And yes, it’s an overrated holiday but it is an excuse to get together with family and friends. I do enjoy that part. I enjoyed the festivities with my daughter and son down in New Orleans on Monday. Better to eat at a star chef’s restaurant and walk the streets of this city than to slave in the kitchen!
I don't celebrate thanksgiving. But we did have a friendsgiving earlier this month which was fun! Since I'm usually off I make lentils & gluten free stuffing since they have almost identical ingredients.
I really couldn’t care less about any holidays. Growing up in a dysfunctional family environment, nothing is comforting about the traditions that just weren’t comfortable. It’s that oppositional attitude I’m sure could be shared by people on this site. Idk
I don’t celebrate any holidays… absolutely none.
Not even my birthday..
Me. I am a Brit
Same. No family here on the west coast, my best friend died. I could sure use someone to talk to, holidays are difficult for me.
I normally do not have the opportunity bc I'm working and my family is far. I'm still working but I did however opt in on a raffle and won a full Thanksgiving feast from a local restaurant. I just need to pick it up. It'll make my aunt's whole day. I can't wait to see her smile. 😍 I send all of yall the biggest embrace I can from TX 🤗🤗🤗 we got this
