face, neck, chest in platonic cuddling

How do you handle touching face, neck, chest in platonic cuddling. It seems impossible to be close and not have chest-back or chest-chest touch or some contact with head, face or neck. Are chest-back, chest-chest or chest-head contacts considered platonic. There is touch with breasts in almost all positions.

Nick. "Platonic" is rising above any sexual desires you may have, elevating the physical/intellectual and emotional connection to something above or other-than a sexual act. No one is saying you won't emote or have arousal. It's when you take action in the form of a sexual act, that it becomes non-platonic. I am reaching here, but I would also say, that if you are cuddling with the intent or expectation that you are going to get some form of sexual contact, some might consider that non-platonic.

How do you handle it? I'll be a little crass here, Sorry if it offends anyone. What did you do when you got aroused in school and had to settle things down? Cold shower? How did you handle it when you hugged someone attractive and got aroused, but didn't want them to notice. Those things you did to avoid the situation still work.

    Peace

And having someone's self buried in your chest can be super exhilerating and wonderful. Enjoy it if you make that kind of connection. If you can't deal with the arousal stuff at that point, you adjust yourself to avoid imposing on your cuddler, then cuddle-on. I LOVE peoples necks. But I don't act on it in any sexual manner.

I don't get sexual intent and don't act sexually. Your answer is very useful

@nickfromsf Great! To clarify, I didn't mean to suggest YOU had intent, or the YOU would act sexually. Sorry if that's what came across. I meant it "in general", or "as it would apply to anyone". Glad my response was helpful. Peace.

  • I cuddled and fell asleep with my head on his chest and was caressing sort of by his clavicle. With my toes moving or my fingers moving is the most relaxing way to fall asleep. Nothing sexual, just my head on his chest and the warmth, smell and just caressing his arm I dozed off so quick!

  • I second @galowglass's post.

These inherently have no problem. It's really more of the intent that matters. Same thing when parts are accidentally touched.. it just might be offhand to repeatedly touch areas "on accident."

Another piece of advice besides gallowglass's that is helpful is that if you have any concerns then just say it right from the get go before you start touching the other person. Get all your thoughts out there in the open so they understand your intentions/concerns or if your nervous, and then they can share what they think to. It will break a lot of tension. Personally, as long as it has nonsexual intentions I love face, head, neck, and chest touching. It feels very nurturing to give and to receive.
