Enthusiasts Responding To Message: Ignore or Engage?

  • I usually ask for a meeting pretty quickly because I'm afraid they're going to think I'm wasting their time. Guess that's been the wrong strategy this whole time 😕

  • Ppl ask for a quick meeting I just get freaked out and walk away. But that is just me.
I need to feel safe to cuddle ppl, and I have met a few ppl rushing that process and it’s not gone well, didn’t go past the public meeting.

  • @hugsnotbugs98 everyone is different with that one. Some people prefer to meet in person quickly in order to vibe check, and feel more comfortable communicating face-to-face. Others want to chat more virtually first, maybe do a phone or video call. It's largely going to be down to personal preference and their own unique history with meeting people from online.

If you think you may have been scaring people away, you could try instead offering a choice and just speaking plainly. "Hey, I don't want to waste your time. Would you like to meet up in public or talk on the phone/video to see how we vibe?" Anything like that shows 1) you're considerate of their time, and 2) that you're flexible in order to match their comfort level.

Unfortunately, a lot of guys see us enthusiasts as "free Pro's". In other words, they expect to be pampered and catered to, without reciprocation or building any kind of friendship. When I get that vibe or have that experience, I'll either express my desire for something more meaningful and reciprocal, or if it doesn't seem like that's likely, I simply won't arrange to meet up with that person again.

I want to spend my time on friendships, and ideally have the cuddling and nurturing be a free-flowing give and take.

As for your specific question, it comes down to your time and personality. Do you have time to answer every message? Do you feel a burning need to answer every message? Be as polite as your time allows, but don't let it keep you up at night if you can only respond to the compatible messages.

Personally, I'm always severely behind on my messages (compatible and otherwise), and it's a me-thing. I withdraw when I become overwhelmed in life.

    Best of luck out there!

  • Ultimately I am not offended by no response. We are talking about autonomous people who are strangers. I did not know them before and I do not know them still. Just give me the genuine people who are honestly interested in connecting in some way. I do not need a Miss Manners perfunctory reply that says No thank you. I am still at the same spot I was if there was no response and it feels forced and contrived. People are busy and I am not anymore special than the next person so no response will not damage my psyche.

As others have said, that might not be the best approach with enthusiasts although everyone is different. Perhaps as an approach you could ask each one how they want to move forward.

For example, I have it written in my profile that i take things slowly and message back and forth. So if you were messaging me the first time, after introducing yourself, you could write about what it was about my profile that seemed interesting to you and lead to you reaching out.

Then you could reference that I said I move slowly and inquire how that looks specifically.

This would show me a few things, you are interested in connecting, you have specific interest in connecting with me, which means you read my profile and took it all in.

All these things contribute to me feeling like you are interested in getting to know me as a person.

And then I respond and now we're talking back and forth. Hopefully to get to know each other better and cuddle in the future. 😁

  • I have totally given up with rewriting my profile. No matter what I put people want to , meet who can't host, too far away, don't wanna chat. Its all a lot of energy. This place feels like the tinder for hugs.
