Legend of Zelda Games

Who’s a fan of Zelda games?

I grew up with the original on NES and it’s still one of my all time favorite games. Not the biggest fan of the second game, but Link to the Past is an absolute masterpiece even to this day and so is Ocarina of Time on N64. Also a big fan of Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and the Zelda games on handheld systems like Link’s Awakening.

Haven’t played Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom yet. I heard they were designed more for a more mainstream gaming audience and as stand alone games they’re amazing but if you are hoping for it to be like Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess you’re going to be really disappointed. I mean, 30+ different swords that all break on you? I much prefer 3 or 5 different swords that are reliable.

  • I have a Zelda story for you! More an Adventure of Link.

When I was younger the NES was the hottest thing and many kids in our neighborhood had one. My mom had even bought Adventure of Link for a friend's kid for their bday party. And knowing how much I wanted an NES she bought the game catridge for me too saying that I will get my NES for Christmas.

So I had this gold cartridge for months waiting until the end of the year. I read the manual over and over imagining how the gameplay would be since there was no gameplay videos or internet at the time.

I brought it over a friend's house to play and he never let me play. So I'd just watch him. Scarred me lol. To this day I probably have FOMO because of that.

The fact it was a gold cartridge just made me covet it more, dreaming about that day more.

So yes, love Zelda games sooo much. Ocarina of Time is my favorite.

  • Ah yes the gold cartridge! I remember the first release of OoT was on a gold cartridge, although not nice and shiny like the NES ones.

  • The Legend of Zelda is my top favorite franchise.

  • My favorite of all time was Twilight Princess

  • To this day believe it or not. I still haven't finished any Zelda game. Its on my gamer bucket list to finish Zelda games

  • @moosegreely973 That's me with any of the Final Fantasy games (with exception to the original FF7)

  • I've not played any Zelda games beyond Twilight Princess but I used to love the series. Ocarina Of Time came with the first console I ever owned. Happy days.

I always loved Oracle Of Ages too.

  • @TheDave90 Oracle of Ages is awesome and so is its sister game Oracle of Seasons. Pretty cool how if you beat both there’s an unlockable final boss battle with Ganon.

My favorite Legend of Zelda game will always be Twilight Princess. The cutscene of Link speaking to Lanayru about the Fused Shadows lives rent free in my head. I would always have so much fun when I unlocked the wolf form for Link and could shift at will. I loved how chaotic the fight against Zant was. Midna is one of the best sidekicks Link has had in my opinion.

I also grew up playing Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Windwaker. I have played both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

  • I played Twilight Princess over a decade ago. I really would like to play it again. My only complaint about the game is it’s a little too easy, especially the boss battles.

I only played the original for NES and it was incredible for it's times and leaps and bounds over anything i had seen on my Sega Master System. A Link to the Past is definitely in my top 10 favorite games of all time. I keep meaning to go back and play through it again.

  • @disneysamurai I've played (and loved) Ocarina of Time, and currently have both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. The breakable weapons in the newer games actually gives you some incentive to strategize with them, and also makes you tinker with different upgrades. Once you get the Master Sword and the Hyrulian Shield, you can usually keep them in use most of the time.

I heard a lot about Ocarina of Time and how great it is but when i had an N64 it was so much different from the Zelda games i played before that i didn't give it much of a chance. Sounds like i missed out pretty big.

  • Shiny gold cartridge on NES was so cool. I plodded around on it a bit, never beat more than one dragon lol.

I remember Zelda 2 being weird and hard as hell.

Later in high school I got into magic of Scherezade and played it all the way through, Zelda like game, I loved it.

I have played most of them. My favorite is A Link to the Past and the original on NES. I also loved A Link Between Worlds on the 3DS and the Link’s Awakening remake on the Switch (and its sequel). Other ones I love are Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom. The one I STILL have yet to play that I’ve been meaning to is Majora’s Mask.

I know I completed Link’s Awakening (Game Boy), Spirit Tracks, Minish Cap, Oracle of Ages/Seasons, and Adventures of Link. I never completed Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Triforce Heroes, and probably Four Swords though I know I played it. I have em all. One day.

I attempted the ones on CD-i but they are god-awful lol

  • My favorite Zelda game is Minish Cap from Nintendo Game Boy Advance

  • Twilight Princess is 100% my fav and the first Zelda I beat.

Not really the same since the gameplay is Dynasty Warriors, but the Hyrule Warriors series is also fun

The legend of Zelda is 100% responsible for my love for video games. There is no bad Zelda game imo (although I never got to play the traintrack one, so maybe that one sucks, who knows :p)
