Creepy Discussions

[Deleted User]woodman008 (deleted user)

My life has been changed through cuddling. I had a career where I needed to be hard on the exterior and not allow the real me to come out. Cuddling allowed me to open up and really soften myself and be authentic. I met a very special cuddle professional who has helped guide me through a shift. I am now happier than I've ever been. For that reason, I hold the act of cuddling as something that needs to be guarded from the negative places people can take it. I read through some of these discussions and like others find some of the questions similar to phishing. Skin on skin is one that comes up constantly. There is no arguing that it is special. Thats why they take newborns and place them on their mother's skin. However, we have barriers in cuddling and those should be held sacred. Why, because if we don't someone will step in and either regulate cuddling or worse ban it. When our discussions start getting creepy, yep it's pretty easy to spot them, luckily we have a moderator who watches out of them and keeps them from going too far. However, as members it might be best if we just not participate in the discussion at all. Don't feed into the conversation. Don't throw angry comments at the person, hateful speech doesn't do anything but propagate anger. Just point out you feel this is not in the scope of what we do and leave it at that. Most of all, think about what you are communicating when you send the initial message.

  • @woodman008 I have to agree. There is something in our nature that makes want to jump on the creeps and trolls. And that does tend to reinforce their bad behavior. When a post strikes a sour note, I suggest we take a deep breat, and ask ourselves whether the behavior violates the guiding principles (report the offender) or simply causes us to shake our heads and wonder, in which case, move on, but don’t engage. The moderators here have the option to correct those who have gone astray, or to eliminate them.

First off you both have magnificent beards.

Second of all it's not in my nature to pass up a chance to engage a creep. Online or offline.

I understand the sentiment but a creep popping up is like finding an extra piece of chocolate in the fridge.

    A rare treat!

  • i agree . Those are magnificent beards ! As far as the creeps go , they are usually easy to pick out and avoid .

  • @chococuddles @bigben Thanks. Funny thing about beards, some people love’em, others, not so much.

Yep, there isn't a lot of gray, except in my beard, when it comes to beard preference.

@chococuddles "a creep popping up is like finding an extra piece of chocolate in the fridge"... poetry

@mickcuddle There does come a point where our silence becomes acceptance and even encouragement for a behavior.

It's one of the ways you can positively affect the health of an environment.

Lack of calling people on their BS is part of the problem with race relations in the US.
If we put up with the behavior, we're part of the problem.
Same thing goes here. When people are bent on coming-in and fomenting unrest, you'll loose all your users.

I think they need a couple more moderators, who are more active in the forums. Not just watching, but actively steering. Allowing the behaviours to continue, unchallenged, also sends an awful crappy message to new users, where THAT thread is enough for them to close their account (them thinking, "I can't believe they allow that").

  • [Deleted User]galowglass (deleted user)

    crickets

  • I disagree with galow I think. If someone wants to cause a rise and they get no rise out of anyone, they'll probably just leave. Many people who start these threads leave before anyone even responds. I think if someone removes their account after posting in the forum without even waiting for a response, the thread should just be deleted before the flood of responses come. So much drama without even the original person listening...

In conclusion, some will ignore and some will not ignore.

    Same as before. :)

  • When someone that isn’t a troll comes into the forums to learn and has questions or post a response because they are learning and they are assumed to be a troll and spoken to like a troll then what? Assumptions can’t be made on ones profile sometimes. I am sure for the most part everyone here can tell which will be banned but what about the ones that are passionate about cuddling and want to learn from all of you?

From observation and experience there are plenty of people on here who give informed, earnest answers to newbies.

Pretty sure this thread is about the obvious trolls.

  • Well put @woodman008. I’ll be honest I see the benefit of both sides because when folks call out others for their questionable behavior, it shows a sense of solidarity towards the goal of the site and other Cuddle members that may be already thinking the same thing. Professionals and other enthusiasts may not want to engage due to how heated these discussions turn out to be and it’s pretty scary tbh to see some folks talk so openly about things that aren’t allowed on the site, and I believe we all have been given the terms we must follow upon or before signing up.

  • To respond or not respond? We're damned if we do, damned if we don't. If we respond, we're feeding the trolls. If we don't, we allow their words to go unchallenged. I don't have an answer. I do the best I can in the situation and hope I'll get better at it over time. I don't take any of it personally.

  • [Deleted User]woodman008 (deleted user)

You can respond, but how you do it determines whether you intensity anger and hate. You decide what you want to encourage.

  • Sometimes it is hard to resist a hungry troll begging for food

  • [Deleted User]chococuddles (deleted user)

    takes out troll food

    Eat. EAAAAAT...

  • To address the larger issue at hand, beards are a magnificent thing to have! Little known fact, I have had mine since age 19! I have been bearded longer than nude in the face

  • I had a job for less than a year in 1984-5 that demanded a clean shaved face. So 23 years now?

  • Ha got you beat by a year lol

  • edited September 2018

@pmvines yeah, but I had facial hair for 12 years before I took that job. That takes me back to ‘72. Long before you were growing whiskers! (Or even born)

  • I'm not much of a beard person, but you guys do have awesome beards!
On topic though even when you are nice to people and are just asking questions you can get jumped on the forums sometimes. So be kind to each other and don't add fuel to the fire!

  • Ah so we are talking total cumulative beard time and not longest stretch then? Gotcha! @waywardchild80 i just cried a tear that you arent fond of face fur but then caught a glimpse of my amazingly bushy mug and wiped my tear away! Ok i release this thread back to its original purpose?

Just be kind. You don't have to sacrifice your values in order to keep the world vibrating at a positive frequency.

  • [Deleted User]woodman008 (deleted user)

@waywardchild80 I accept your proposal. You can be my beard’s official one and only.

  • @woodman008 "Cuddling allowed me to open up and really soften myself and be authentic. I met a very special cuddle professional who has helped guide me through a shift. I am now happier than I've ever been."

Just wanted to say: I love hearing that kind of thing!

  • Don't cry @pmvines you are still one of my favorite people, beard or no beard!

    Haha Thanks! @woodman008

  • @waywardchild80 Thank you for seeing beyond the beard lol

  • How did our beards get to be the topic of a thread titled,”Creepy Discussions?”
