Can you communicate too much with a pro (within bounds)? Especially, if you had at least one session? Is that unprofessional? Such a personal fulfilling experience to be treated as a commercial relationship is trippy, no?
No
Not really. Pro cuddlers are a service provider. And you are a client. While it is certainly possible to become friends, it's not typical or expected. You probably don't have a lot of out-of-office communications with your physical therapist, your massage therapist, or your accountant. Same thing here. I do know some pros who keep in regular, friendly touch with their clients. A way to stay top-of-mind and encourage more frequent business. Others want to keep it more cooly professional, more arm's length. Neither approach is wrong. But either way, it is a commercial relationship. So nothing trippy about treating it like one. :-)
@CareFree I agree with @quietman775 . It really depends on the pro and the client. I have some clients that I only hear from right before they want to schedule a session and it's more to ask for availability. I have others I text back and forth on an almost daily basis. I don't mind unless the client gets needy and always expects a prompt reply as I do have times I can't text believe it or not, lol.
I think the question should be asked of the specific pro involved. Ask what (if any) subjects are out of bounds. I'm assuming you're referring to inside of a cuddling session. If you are talking about communicating with them outside of a cuddling session, I think that should be pretty much confined to making appointments. I think it would be inappropriate and a bit demanding to start expecting them to engage with you outside of sessions.
I'm new to this whole site so I may not have the best advice however when you started talking about communication in the bounds of a professional relationship I started thinking of it as like your hairdresser. I know a lot of people talk a lot to their hairdresser and some people just prefer to not say a whole lot and use it as a time to rest and get their hair done. Personal preference really.
I suppose I can see where someone might get attached or attracted and get needy, or blur the lines thinking they are more to the person than they really are. Important to keep things reality based and have other hobbies, distractions, interests, and support systems. It is good to maintain a healthy distance with unless otherwise noted that the interest is mutual. Expecting too much extra time and attention can be considered disrespectful and will wear out your welcome. I would also categorize this as part of the emotional labor that goes into the price point when determining what to charge if you are charging to cuddle.
I actually feel like its important to become friends in order to feel safe and comfortable while cuddling. There needs to be some kind of connection I feel. Im not saying that you have to become best friends but in order to look forward to cuddling with someone you need a personal connection with the person. But I wouldnt pry either. There are some people who are very private or not comfortable sharing their private information. So you have to respect that. I am very open and honest and like getting to know someone on a personal level but thats just me. We all have our own likes and dislikes.
I'm new but prefer to keep it professional.
