What are some simple habits that are like hobbies and improved your overall well being ? How did you build those habits?
Walking.
It got me started on my journey of losing 100 pounds.
I still do it on my breaks around the building at work.
Thanks for sharing. Nice. Movement is medicine for sure.
Reading out loud for 20 minutes a day helped with a speech impediment.
@Livyatan - Wonderful
Journaling helps me process a lot of what goes on beneath the skin. Let's me get to the root of things. Makes order out of the chaos.
I'd say walking mainly too, but with added Geocaching (look it up). Makes it more fun and motivates me to be more active
Geocaching ..Interesting concept. Good info. Thank you
Positive mirror affirmations really helped me when my self esteem was low and I was depressed. I do it now all the time, everyone needs to hear something positive about themselves every day even if it comes from you. Self love is the best love.
Drinking water all the time. I used to avoid drinking water like the plague, but started doing it once I started doing singing lessons, and then drank more water in recent years when I needed to watch my A1C levels and cut out all the sugary drinks I used to drink in a meal (it was bad sometimes 2 or 3 20 oz bottles of lemonade/soda in one meal or a large milkshake or smoothie). Now I don't drink much more than water, maybe 1 small bottle or cup of juice in a day or a cup of tea (chamomile mixed with green) at night, but otherwise water water water. I help to make sure I get at least 2 liters by bringing my big metal 2 liter bottle filled with water to work lol. It's got some dents from clanging around and dropping it a few times, but I still use it. It's become sort of a fun goal to empty that big heavy bottle daily.
@AuraOfComfort - Self love is often shamed as 'Selfish'. Thank you for the reminder to be kind to ourselves.
@CSnMUS87 - That is inspiring. I have been trying to finish my half gallon water. Sometimes I cannot. Good job on you.
I work on crossword puzzles. It helps my vocabulary.
