Newbie: What are the rules of a cuddle?

As a passionate person by nature, I admittedly, unfortunately catch feelings perhaps quicker than others. As such, what are the general rules of an effective cuddle?

I would say put all feelings on hold, remember it’s a business and obey to the letter all rules.

  • No crotch grabs.

  • There are indeed multiple posts about erections and the like. But really like stated above look at this professionally. As a service just like any other. A massage, pedicure, a dental cleaning, a hair cut, they all bring someone into our personal space. In a few different threads it was mentioned that any man that has gone through puberty has figured out how to deal with uncomfortable moments. As have we women, because yes feelings arise in us also it's just not as obvious.
But I think the best advice that I've seen is don't be embarrassed, just own it and ask for a shift or change of position or even a pillow between.

Personally, my advice and also what I learned by screwing up a good cuddle relationship is start slow. Just sit next to each other, close enough that you'll touch shoulders or parts of legs. Hold hands, look into each others eyes. Positions like spooning or sitting on laps are advanced and shouldn't be a first position. Have you ever had a time where you held a person's gaze for longer than a minute and not feel an intimate connection? A minute is a long time, try it with the mirror.

You said you're passionate by nature so for you it's easy to feel connected by small gestures right? After all it's the connection we all want, belonging, acceptance, friendship. So a thumb pad stroking the back of a hand, a fingertip brushing an arm or leg, a back scratch or head scratch, sitting side by side keeping arms unconnected but crossing legs; have a toe war, or foot battle. Anything between the two crotches is potential erogenous area. Keep it above the armpit, below the pubic; anywhere on the extremities until you're comfortable with the new partner and you'll be fine.

Learn how to swim in the kiddie pool before trying the high dive. Also if your the type who reads a good book I found just this weekend is 'Touch' by Samantha Hess, it's massively hard to find but very useful. She outlines various options from beginner to advanced.

See the wonder today & good luck,

    Paula

  • Gazing into each other’s eyes can be a lot more romantic-intimate than spooning. It depends on the people and the vibe.

Some people who “catch feelings quickly” will express these feelings through intense displays of interest in someone they’ve just met. My advise is just try to keep your cool, keep the vibe chill and platonic, and you can still have a great and pleasurable time. It can actually be good practice in regulating your emotions, being authentic, and not performing.
