Full English Breakfast

The Full [English/Scottish/Welsh/Irish/Ulster/Cornish/any geographic term] Breakfast is a Very Important Thing in British culture, and is served virtually everywhere that does a proper cooked breakfast from the scuzziest cafe to the best hotels in the world.

Nobody is offended by the use of any geographic term, they refer to ancillary components which vary in different parts of the country. The general idea and core ingredients are fixed. (Vegetarian or vegan alternatives are sometimes offered, and in and of themselves can repeat can be wonderful, but they are not the same thing at all.) The core ingredients are eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato/beans, starch; with a minimum of six components.

I'm interested in collecting all the components which are widely offered. (Individual establishments sometimes have their own, ahem, 'unique' details which do not concern us here.) What have I missed?

And, given this menu, what would you choose?

    I don’t know about all of that, but I haven’t heard the word scuzzy in decades! I’m going to have to re-incorporate that word back in to my vernacular.

    Love a full English although my GP probably would have a screaming fit if she saw me in a greasy spoon!

    No black pudding or Hashbrowns but plenty of fried bread, fried tomatoes, back bacon, big juicy pork sausages. Beans (not in pot) with a couple of slices of bread and bug of tea!

    I can't eat fried eggs so I ask for an extra sausage - yum

    @CuddleDuncan Totally unrelated, but I took your post as a sign lol. I’ve been wanting to leave the U.S and started contemplating moving to Ireland(my paternal great grandfather was from there) I love the land, and it just looks peaceful. I'm just a bit bummed that they aren't on this site.

    I’ll definitely have to come back to this post once I try the breakfast there. 😋

    We might be distantly related! 50% of my ancestry is English/Ulster Scot/Welsh and I love haggis and a good breakfast. I have at least one distant relative that I know of in Edinburgh though I’ve never been. It’s on the bucket list though.

    @BellaXochilt do it. There are a few accounts in Ireland here, it's more than worth a search.

    I've met literally hundreds of Americans who have moved to the UK. For many, it was a temporary thing, usually work related, just for a few years. But the ones who had intended to move here forever .... they never go back. Mostly they just wish they'd done it sooner. I would presume the same is true in Ireland.

    Full English really hits the spot after a night of heavy drinking.

    Id usually have it in an Indian household, where the beans would be spiced and onion'd up.

    Fish fingers, grilled tomato, eggs,bacon, potatoes

    Only thing I felt it was missing was good salsa.

    Black pudding! With beans, eggy toast, sausage AND bacon.
    I have a really hard time finding black pudding, though.
