I love Frank Herbert's writing. So smart and imaginative!
Before Your Memory Fades by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
@radiatawellness that's so funny my ex used to call dune the awake killer.
I just finished reading the red tent by Anita diamante and survivor by chuck palinuk and now I'm reading dark matter by Blake Crouch I think I butchered their names. 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
I just returned Walter Mosley's "Been Wrong So Long It Feels Right" to the library today. My library card is always active. Reserved a copy of Lionel Richie's memoir "Truly " which comes out in September. I want to know if he tells all; in whether his ex-wife Brenda whipped him and the side chick's ass when she caught them together as reported at the time.
I’m currently working on … Tele Aadsen’s What Water Holds, The Caretaker by Marcus Kliewer, The Shopkeeper by Peter Miller and The Book of Thoth by Aleister Crowley.
One of the best biographies I've had the pleasure to read.
Just finished vicious society. The audio was fantastic! 🥰
Penance by Eliza Clark. So haunting and heartbreaking to read.
Sci-fi / fantasy!
Queen Demon - Martha Wells (murderbot author, but she writes great fantasy too)
Written on the Dark - Guy Gavriel Kay (historical fantasy set in medieval France during the time of Joan of Arc)
Litany of the Long Sun - Gene Wolfe
Yes! Still have a library card! Love the library so much. The last book I read was technically Fahrenheit 451, currently reading a few but most actively Widow's Point by Chizmar x Chizmar! Big fan of horror novels, but love most genres.
It’s a slow burn but the ending kicks ash!
i'm trying to finish my old Sci Fi stuff. Currently on Connie Willis' Blackout and need to re-read Isaac Asimov's Foundations some day.
Death In The Long Grass by Peter Hathaway Capstick..
Jayber Crow by Wendell Barry. I think it’s my fourth time through?
Japanese textbooks

Loving this book! 💞
@penguin34 Yes!! Such a great concept and a bit heavier than Carl books but the humor is there for sure.
I have read this twice before but this book is ethereal in its prose and masterful in how much is not said. That said, it is not for everyone if you need everything linear and straightforward.
I read a lot of books (I have four tablets), only non-fiction, and these two have really stood out over the years as being extremely memorable.
