Hey moderators?
Someone made a mistake, I guess.
You are the bestest of the bestest @BlueIris 😊
I saw that and was like hmm wait, what?
… and now it’s like gone ? Idk. Out of all the threads on here ….I guess sharing quotes in this community became a problem or something 🤔
@OhioMike its still there
@Morpheus oh ok! I found it way down there lol must be glitchy ...I posted today recently but it says I posted yesterday lol
They made the thread unbumpable, now.
They do this when they don't want a thread to be responded to but don't go as far as locking it. Any new posts made do not make the thread bump to the top of the board, in this scenario, so it gets buried.
Moderators usually explain why they lock threads or otherwise take action, so I'm not sure what's happening, either.

It seems the same thing is happening with the Word of the Day thread as well. Not sure if it's a glitch or not
Yes, it is locked still.
But a soft lock, so now, when others or myself share, no one will eventually know at all because it will continue to fall to other pages into nonexistence.
The moderation team, from what I've gathered, seems to believe since it's only "one person" posting is breaking the forum rules, though there is other interaction on the posts, a posting that's been on going for almost 8 years, is now an issue.
Albeit, perhaps others posting on it not as frequently, it has served as a more positively forward posting for a very long time, meant to enrich others with something besides another argument or repetitive subjects.
I know, as any other subject matter in the history of the world, that there is a mix of opinions. I respect that.
But the positive feedback from others on the community forum I've received for years have always been thankful for a small, positive contribution to their day. Something that I have taken time to invest in for a small benefit for those that choose to participate or just silently view, all have been welcomed in that thread.
I would sincerely hope would the communities thoughts into this be taken into consideration, especially since we could use it more now than ever in the changing, unsure world around us today.
How do you all know about it being a soft lock, unbumpable etc? Doesn’t say that, someone told you or you just figured it out?
The Quote of the Day thread is one of my favorites! I love the informative and positive, sometimes contemplative posts that give rise to self reflection and a way of looking at things from another prospective.
Both, to answer your questions @Morpheus 🫠🙃
I agree that community input should carry some amount of weight. Given the choice between daily inspirational quotes and poop jokes, I'd choose the quotes. I'm just one voice though.
🤔 poop jokes vs. enriching quotes
That’s a tough one. Although I do love a great poop joke giggle every now and then, enriching or otherwise quotes would win out for me too.
If the poop jokes were confined to a certain thread, I'd be more supportive of them.
Redacted for reasons known only to the Cartel.
I have enjoyed reading @MissAdventurous quote of the day as someone who has been on the site for a few years. I never posted on there but enjoyed that you could look back at all the different quotes they are inspiring
….comment erased
Oh wow that’s a lot more going on ! Here I thought I was helping with a site glitch!
It’s one of my fav threads here on forum. I’ve used a lot of the contributions / quotes over the years and I’ve posted some of my favorites here also.
@MissAdventurous thank you for starting it way back when and all those amazing quotes and thoughts. Also all you other peeps Def enjoyed reading them and sharing them even outside CC 😊
@Morpheus posted: "How do you all know about it being a soft lock, unbumpable etc? Doesn’t say that, someone told you or you just figured it out?"
It's been discussed by mods openly in the past, so I know what it looks like - a thread that has a recent post but that has not bumped up to the top, accordingly. So when @OhioMike commented, I peeked to see where it was and if I could see his post. His new post was there but the thread had not moved up appropriately.
I believe the term used for this in the past is to "sink" a thread. It's less controlling than locking, but since only the very few people who may seek out to save that thread and respond to it manually will ever know when something new is there, they die, so the same end goal is usually accomplished.
A work-around, my dear friends, is to ⭐️star⭐️ the thread:
And adjust your settings to receive notifications when there are new posts to bookmarked threads, like so:
Then...
I agree with @TheFunCartel
Taking away the Quotes thread and Word thread is one of the worst moderator decisions I have seen.
I think the mods need to reconsider.
@JoyfulHeart 😆 your new profile pic is awesome 👏
@everyone We haven’t taken it away. The inability to bump that’s currently placed will be removed. This wasn’t done to hurt or upset the community. Its something else entirely. 🫂
@stormydaycuddle Thank you for the clarification! Much appreciated.
I would still love the ability to do that to my own personal feed. (Soft lock them, hide them, whatever.) When conversations have to be popular to survive, everybody loses.
Thank you for everyone's input, warms my heart. And I'm so happy to be a positive impact.
It seems the QOTD post is still soft locked, since the clarification from our lovely moderator is that it will be taken off, can we have that restriction removed now? People are still messaging me confused with what's going on and why it's not fixed and I'd like move on from it. Appreciate it. 💖
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Both threads are fully unlocked now.
The primary issue here is bumping. A thread is organically active when multiple people are sincerely engaging with it. A thread is not legitimately active when it's primarily one person keeping it alive.
Bumping has always broken the rules. It formed part of the Spamming rule but for additional prominence I've split it into an independent point in the rules thread.
Bumping: Posting multiple times consecutively in a thread without replies from other members, and/or posting primarily to keep a thread near the top of the list, is prohibited.
Thank you for your feedback, everyone. I'm now closing this thread.
