Two Price Options

I’m thinking about offering two price options and would love people's feedback. For my regular rate, I only ask for a picture. The second, lower rate would be for clients who are willing to share their ID, fill out a short form/survey, and pay a non-refundable 50% deposit in case of cancellation. This helps prevent no-shows and keeps things safer for both of us. I’m doing this to take into consideration people who have mentioned not being able to afford my regular rates. What do you guys think about this setup? Would you take a lower rate if it meant sharing your ID, filling a short form, and paying a non-refundable 50% deposit?

    50% deposit is crazy. You can try doing this but I doubt you will find too many that will agree to that.

    From what I gather it is damn near impossible to get your money back if a pro no shows/cancels.

    @Comet85 my own made up one. It is for me to be able to improve my cuddle services in the long run. Karmas aren't that reliable. I want honesty

    @tacpmurg that is why there are 2 options. My regular price as it stands only requires a picture of the client. That option will still be there.

    No deposit. But I'd do a preliminary public meet 'n' greet, show my ID in-person (not online), and I'd be happy to fill out a form.

    I'd pay for your time at the meet 'n' greet, and assume the cuddle would follow afterwards. So I can't cancel if we're already together.

    Please always ask to see their ID 🪪 for your safety! 😊 I always ask for government issued ID and I have not had any issues.. they respect my wishes and they understand it’s for safety! 😊

    @TxTom I don't currently do meet n greets. Even if I did a meet n greet, it runs the same risk of getting cancelled by the client.

    Initially, it depends on the difference in the rates. But If you end up as my regular cuddle partner, you can have my ID, a deposit, my address, my work schedule, my HBO password, my mother’s maiden name. Idgaf.

    Maybe it would be easier to keep your standard rate but offer a hidden discount to regulars that you got along with well and you already know what to expect so they can keep coming back.

    @BellaAine karma system. Or maybe a small, $20 deposit or something. Most would still hesitate on that. To give half up front seems kind of out there.

    Would work if there was a third party to hold funds in escrow and release to appropriate party depending on which one cancels. In a case like that I'd have no trouble with 100% in advance.

    @sausalito I think that is what I'm going to end up doing but it still doesn't prevent last minute cancellation.

    @wilderdude that would make both parties feel comfortable. I get it but that is another added fee.

    My worst cuddling sessions had good karmas so I don't trust the karma system at all.

    I’ve been on CC for over 10 years, I’ve never filled out a form, showed my ID nor have I paid a 50% deposit. I doubt you’ll get many takers that would do all 3 of those things.

    A word of advice to anyone on the site, don’t send anyone an image of your ID or let them take a picture of it. If you do that, you’re just begging for identity theft.

    Question for anyone that requests an ID, are you willing to show them your ID? This is an interesting question to me considering many pros use an alias.

    @Morpheus than don't. Keep paying our high prices without complaining. I have no need to lower them. It is aimed to help those that have good intentions but can't afford my prices.

    Fyi: I've already gotten messages saying otherwise.

    @BellaAine I’m not complaining nor did I comment on your price or anyone’s price. I’m just saying that I don’t think the majority of clients are going to be willing to do all 3 of those things. And to answer your question, I actually think it’s very kind of you to have an option for clients that can’t afford your regular rate.

    I'm finding that gals that describe an awful experience w/ someone with good karma don't leave bad karma. So naturally that person continues to have good karma, which is the reason the karma system is not as reliable.

    Personally, I would not offer discounts for following safety protocols - those are a bare minimum for me, and offering a discount for them conversely makes it seem like higher amounts of money can make me relax my boundaries.

    Unfortunately for many businesses like this, no-shows and last minute cancels are a given. Some industries have been able to leverage licensing in order to normalize high deposits for new customers, but cuddling just hasn't gotten there yet. There are some 3rd party booking systems that massage therapists, hairstylists, etc. use where the 3rd party charges a no-show or cancel fee to a card on file automatically.... But I'm not sure if cuddlers would be able to utilize them.

    I'd much rather reward return customers and those that play by the rules without complaint, instead of pre-discounting potential bad actors or flakes. Say offering a discount on a 2nd booking after a successful 1st. Also, keeping a wait-list or regulars in mind whom you can call up if you unexpectedly have a cancel/no-show to fill the time. You can even offer the wait-list or regular a discount for helping you makeup for the lost potential revenue.

    I wouldn't show id, fill out a form and make a 50% deposit. It's unfortunate people cancel, but it happens on the pro side and the client side.

    I could be wrong but it seems like pros have to strike while the iron is hot.

    That is to say if someone wants a same day or next day appointment book it while you can after performing your due diligence.

    Scheduling a session several days to a week or more in advance seems to me to run a higher risk of cancellation.

    Re: offering lower prices for accessibility purposes - I much prefer tiered pricing and pay-what-you-can structures so that instead of the value of services being lowered, those who can afford to pay more subsidize those who can't. It requires a lot more vetting and upfront work on the part of the provider, and definitely a hefty dose of the honor system, but it's much more my vibe than pricing high and feeling like I'm haggling. I've used similar strategies in other businesses and when I was actively a pro cuddler.
