It was turning out to be a busy day. Celia took a moment to close her eyes and recall her last cuddle, then the phone rang again.
"Hello? Department of Cuddles?" she answered in a friendly tone.
Caller, "I know I need something but I don't know where to start." Celia, " I would be glad to assist you and not to worry, you're far from alone, in fact we get many calls with that same question. You see many of us have been taught in verbal and written language but not in touch communication skills. So here is my first suggestion, when you get a chance stop by, and one of our coaches will give you a free introductory session on great touch communication. Then if you are interested in taking it further you can sign up for our course on The language of touch, giving and receiving. I find individuals who take this basic course become much more confident in their touch friendships and report a much greater level of satisfaction in things such as cuddle friendships." Caller, "Wow, thank you Celia, that's very encouraging to hear, I wanted to call for some time but didn't even know what I would say when I call, you make it sound like, like I'm normal?" Celia, "Oh, you are very welcome, yes you're normal and I'm glad you finally called. That's what we are here for. So tell me are there more questions you have right now?" Caller, "Actual yes, now that I you put me at ease. Do you also help people actually find others to connect with? And do it as safely as possible?" Celia "We do, in fact when you become more comfortable with the language, you will probably even be spending touch time with friends you already have. Or some find it more inviting to make new friends with the focus being touch. I will say though, other forms of communication are very necessary as well, such as how to introduce yourself and ask questions, or how to make another person feel cared for, etc. If you feel like you want help in that as well, just mention it to your intro coach and they will be happy to direct you forward in that too. You see, one of the fascinating things about touch is that its a language that goes deeper than words so our underlying soul issues come out, so when your here you may want to check out our other course on emotional wellbeing also, you know healthy inside makes us healthy outside too." "Is there anything else I can help you with today?" Caller "No, that's has been very helpful, thank you so much, this is a huge relief." Celia "My pleasure, and thank you for calling the Department of Cuddles."
With that Celia leaned back in her chair, that warm feeling of giving another person hope, ahh, there's nothing quite like it. Which reminds me I should call Caringtouch and setup another cuddle time......

Unfortunately, the rest of the afternoon was not quite so relaxing.
The first dinosaur caused quite the calamity in the lobby. Of course, many of the employees had seen the creature before, but observing a digital rendering on a TV screen was not quite the same thing as having an actual T-Rex nibbling on your brief case. Celia, ever the professional, had devised quite the plan to deal with this newest infestation of pre-historic pests before the annual cuddler's lunch.
Celia woke with a start. Dinosaurs! Must have been last night's movie ...
Something caught her attention the TV, so she turned up the volume. It seemed the Minister for Cuddling was about to make an announcement.
