All pictures on my profile are public but somehow people are asking for a picture as if they are not able to view any of them. Weird.
Well, you have one clear head & shoulders picture, but it's one of the last ones on your profile. When folks view the site from a mobile device, they often only see the main picture unless they actively scroll through your photos. Perhaps rearrange the pics so that the face one is the main one on your profile?
Tell them they have to cycle through the pictures, there's a faint arrow triangle to move you to the next pic it's to the center right
@Jubal - At least now I know all pictures are public. Thanks to you. @wilderdude - Yeah I have told them but since quite a few were asking, I wondered if there is a glitch.
@consciousseeker it could also be people asking to see a recent or live pic, but wording it poorly. Though honestly, it's just as likely copy and paste responses without actually viewing your profile first 🤷🏻♀️
I get messages like this all the time. From my experience, it's people who have seen my pictures. They are then requesting more pictures, not sure exactly, nude pics? It never ends well, those people are immediately blocked. 🤦
Great thoughts. thanks. I think overall we have become too lazy to make efforts, not curious any more, distracted easily, attention span is too short.
I do understand anonymity and privacy, but I think I a profile picture that includes your face/body is going to capture attention more. I could understand if you didn’t want any face pictures for safety and anonymity, but if you do have some public, why bury them toward the back? If that’s intentional to weed people out, then you don’t want to engage with the people who still ask for pictures anyway.
It is also true that attention spans are short these days. But that’s why you have to adjust to keep up with the trends. Otherwise, you won’t get noticed as much.
I’ll be honest, if I see a sea of profiles, I don’t even bother clicking on ones that don’t have a face picture. Sometimes they’re catfishing, hiding something or misleading. I am not sure I see a reason for you not leading with a face picture, but that’s personal preference. (I mean that as a compliment, you have nothing to hide, not saying you are hiding the pic, but it’s effectively hidden toward the back of a slideshow)
I am curious, what’s your reason for leading with that picture from Bryce Canyon with only your feet? I love the hiking and outdoors. My profile picture on some sites right now is me hiking Angel’s Landing at Zion NP. Nature means a lot to me, but I was sure to include my face in that picture for more context, so people can see me doing something I enjoy.
If you want people to know you love nature, a face or full body picture of you hiking is way more interesting and attention capturing than your feet.
I mean this all in a positive way to share my personal opinion. I do appreciate that you at least have real pictures in your profile. I am on another site for cuddlers and the amount of AI/fake/cartoon pictures is very offputting.
On a side note, I haven’t updated my pics on here this year, I may add a few of me hiking. Thanks for the inspo!
@consciousseeker Really nice Canyon pics man ! I'm on my mobile and could perfectly swipe and see all your pics. Happy cuddling ! 😉
I, too, am genuinely curious. Why if you show your face, do you bury it behind other pics? I see quite a few people do this.
If you are on mobile, if you rotate your device to landscape mode, the other photo thumbnails will display like they do on a computer, though in portrait mode, only your primary photo displays on your profile. Though you can still tap and swipe through them, so maybe they were not doing that.
@quincyq03 I appreciate the detailed response and your thoughts. You seem very kind and making sure I don't feel offended with your suggestions. This triggers another topic - Why and How we have become so sensitive to feedback. Why we have to sugar coat just expressing our views. Smh.
Btw, Your pic hiking Angels Landing is dope. beautiful. I have been trying to get a permit. I think they are going to open on the 1st of April. Any inputs?
My actual intent of the original post was to make sure there is no glitch and people can actually see all the pictures which I think they can. Thanks to all of you.
Regarding people not keeping their face shot as their main/profile pic can have a lot of reasons. Could be just their personality or introvert or their form of expression. Trust me I do want to see the face of the person I am interacting with but that comes after their personality. There is nothing wrong if prefer face pic first.
Most of those who asked for my pic - probably do not know how this site's interface work or too lazy to explore or brand new here or bots or purely driven by looks.
I have an iPhone 13 so not the newest. I don’t turn to landscape, in portrait mode I see 7 really nice photos with no problem. Maybe some setting makes a difference?
@consciousseeker I kind of get a creative thought process here for the choice & organization of photos. I think they’re all very interesting & nice and in fact the first one makes me want to scroll on through all of them to see more. Sometimes if it’s just a face pic first then I’ve seen the whole story.
This is what I find kinda crazy. Is your pic at the cave at Soldier's pass in Sedona?
I have to say, from reading how many respond to things here, you're reading into some things too much and almost portraying some as slightly predatory for making harmless requests, such as asking for more pictures. If they ask for nudes or bending over in short shorts, just 2 examples of many, yes, that is creepy and suspect, but asking for more pics of you completely clothed and sitting in a chair or standing up, with your face showing, that is reasonable. Do you have to post them? No. It is a request, not a demand. It is actually suspicious if someone wants to meet other people for cuddling on here and they post pics where you can't see their face. That goes for both pros and enthusiasts, especially if there is something that could become a legal matter like theft or assault on either part.
Even though I gave an answer to this thread previously, I now have a second answer.
Recently met with a lady from the site. Afterwards, she texted me to say "thank you for looking like your photos" (yes, I do send photos of myself prior to meeting). She told me that a significant number of men that she meets have photos that are from ten+ years and substantial weight difference ago, to the point that the photos no longer look like the person.
Could be that getting a request for more photos is "I want to see what you actually look like here and now".
Why if you show your face, do you bury it behind other pics? I see quite a few people do this.
I do this because studies have shown that cuddlers prefer my disarmingly sweet blobfish and space frog pics.
@Huggycatbear Yes! my pic was from Soldier's pass cave in Sedona. Your picture is cool.
@Carrie_Anne Thank you. I resonate with you. I too prefer profiles with interesting first picture. Those make me want to see the rest and what's written on their profiles.
@Jubal - I agree it is normal if they ask for more pictures but if their first question is 'Can I see a picture of you?'.. then I would say they did not take time
@consciousseeker are they closed now? I got very lucky and when I went to Angel’s Landing on my birthday (February 3rd), the weather was mild, no ice and no big crowds.
You should absolutely try to go! It’s much easier to win the lottery in the winter or early spring, than any other time of year.
@situation5 Gaslighting folks about their experiences isn’t a good look. @penguin34 was describing a strategy to deal with creeps based on having had to deal with creeps. Not clicking so guessing you’re at least over 35 (tiny pic on my phone but you don’t dye). Teenage boys are aware of the harassment fems regularly face irl and online. The Pollyanna thing is making you look sus. Am autistic and from NY so don’t do nuance well. Not cool to request photos of cuddlers. If you don’t like what they have up move on. Plenty of options. I essentially wrote that I don’t engage with empty profiles and why on my profile. Never felt it appropriate to ask anyone for photos if they feel uncomfortable with sharing them (implied boundary). I really can’t fathom why anyone would need a photo of someone’s body to decide whether or not to platonically cuddle with them. Certain body types like super swoll bodybuilders make it impossible to do head on chest but my day isn’t ruined. Oxytocin regardless. Maybe you can help us understand why seeing body photos of cuddlers is important. Especially if they already have some up. Like does their bottom have to be smaller than a certain size to fit into your big spoon?? I don’t get it
@situation5
for making harmless requests, such as asking for more pictures
You'd think, wouldn't you, that it's a harmless request. But it isn't, for two reasons. Firstly, if you had two or three pictures of say, your lawyer from their website, you would be considered strange for asking for more. It's not a perfect analogy and there are exceptions, but it's a good starting point: if you wouldn't say it to your lawyer or your plumber, you shouldn't say to your cuddler. Because it's weird.
Secondly, it just turns out that the guys who ask for pictures are always problematic.
You can just about imagine one or two rare circumstances when it might be appropriate for some particular reason, but in those kind of cases the genuine client asks politely, with an explanation and a slight air of embarrassment, and frequently giving the professional an 'out'.
(All this is assuming you do have one clear face photo which is needed for safety. Professionals are obliged to have one.)
Body shape is a legitmate preference in cuddling. For example, other things being equal, I have a mild preference to cuddle with stick insects rather than bean bags. Lots of people have the opposite preference and many more don't care. That doesn't mean I wouldn't cuddle a bean bag - I have on many occasions and I would never not cuddle with anybody because of their body shape. That would be prejudice, which is a very different thing from preference. I find it nice to have a photo that gives an indication of body shape, but it's not essential and I wouldn't dream of asking for one.
