Why ask my location if you’re not serious?

Genuine question… why do people ask where I’m located, say they want to book, and then suddenly it’s “too far”?

I’m right over the bridge in Fort Lee, NJ. It’s an easy trip from NYC

car or public transportation.

If distance is an issue, I completely understand… but why ask in the first place?

Just curious if anyone else deals with this

  • I routinely ask for location, because the distances given on the site are frequently way, WAY off. I might see a woman's profile that says she's 15 miles from me, but when I confirm with her, it can turn out to be 30+ miles.

"Too far" is of course subjective - some people don't mind traveling two hours to meet for a cuddle session, and other's don't want to drive for more than 30 minutes.

  • I actually did a cuddle session up in Fort Lee a couple years ago!

  • For me when they say Chicago it’s a question of are they in the actual city or in one of its suburbs

Chicago is also pretty large from both time and distance. North Chicago can be well over an hour to my house with annoying traffic. South Chicago/Chinatown can be like 40 minutes on one freeway. And everyone is listed as 'chicago' and all are 30 miles from me, lol

  • Some take 10 miles as close… some take it as FAR!! It is simply one’s willingness to travel. I COMPLETELY get it… one of my girlfriends does not like to drive for the life of her.

  • To be fair, Orlando stretches pretty far as well. I’m over by Disney, which is on the very western edge of Orlando, and it takes about an hour to drive to the other side of Orlando so I do have to ask the pro where they’re staying because I know unless they’re staying at a Disney hotel that it’s going to take at least 30 minutes to drive.

  • The Kansas City metro area is HUGE so I ask for cross streets of the nearest major intersection. I’ll say if that’s too far for me or if I’ll feel unsafe in that area, but I’m highly communicative. If someone doesn’t reply after receiving your location, it’s safe to assume that it’s too far for them for whatever reason and just “let it be”. You CAN NOT take ANYTHING about this site “personally”!

  • Looks like the image says “tolls required”. I’m not from an area where tolls are common, could that be a deal killer?

  • @bianca106 - I am sorry it can be frustrating.
Looking at your profile, there are 2 locations mentioned. Maybe they want to know which location are you able to meet up for the cuddle session?
I lived in NYC/Jersey. Driving is for sure hassle and the tolls and tunnel traffic can be crazy.

As other people on this thread have mentioned, we don't know the exact distance from the profiles. I live in Austin. North to South can take more than one hour. But all profiles are under Austin area.

I hope those reaching out to you are actually serious about the session and not just filling up time with some meaningless conversation.

  • I think asking where you're located is a fair question when you list two locations

  • Sometimes people ask questions just to ask questions . If it's not a good fit for them then don't take it personally . We are so used to airing our grievances and getting upset when something doesn't go how we want it to or when we think something isn't fair to us that we don't realize how silly our complaints sound sometimes

Mostly use it as a way to figure out timing.
Don't need your exact GPS, just some cross streets near by.
Can't plan a time without knowing how far to go? Especially since timing can change based on time of day, or where I'll be coming from on some particular day.

Mabe one day could feel good about doing a 104+ minutes on a bus for a 60 minute session, but another day that could feel too like too much.

Also sometimes people select the popular city of the area, not where they actually are or it's very generic and could mean a big area, or as others have said, multiple locations.

Or was your concern that they agreed to it, then suddenly change their mind using an excuse that didn't make sense to you, since it was clearly fine at one point when they originally agreed?

  • It's a legitimate question, as the person would be traveling to your location and has to map out the best route. It also depends on variables like traffic, time of day, weather, tolls, etc.

  • A friend, which this is platonic only would want you to feel safe and be safe. I’m having a hard time finding that on here. Any man not looking for a hook up would want and do whatever it is for you to feel safe. As I have said, I am having a really hard time finding that on here and a lot of my time has been wasted pre meet up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate

If someone is not comfortable giving their full address right away. I would suggest giving a near by general location. The nearest bus stop or train station or local landmark. It should be something walking distance from you, but not your actual address.

I will usually ask for this a day or two before meeting for a cuddle. This allows me to plan my route while allowing them to keep their location private until they are comfortable. BTW as a New Yorker I must say, going from NY to NJ can take 20 minutes to 3 hours depending on where you're coming from, mode of transportation, day of week or time of day.

  • Just too be sure. Some people have wrong location
