What does it mean if someone's account was "Deleted"? Do the moderators do that?

Two people that I was talking to in the past week alone both had their accounts "Deleted" completely out of nowhere. Can someone here explain the difference between an account being deleted and one being banned? Do moderators control someone's account being deleted or is that completely voluntarily? Im just so confused because it doesnt make sense why two people I've been talking to in the past week both decide to just randomly delete their accounts of nowhere with no explanation or anything. It just feels odd.

  • Means someone deleted their account . It's elective on the part of the user , not something the mods do .

  • @pmvines it's just so strange though because why would would they do that? what are possible reasons they would delete their accounts?

People delete all the time . My guess is that if they wanted folks to know why they would tell them. Transient nature of the interwebs. Can't take it personally.

  • This thread explains all the things that can happen to an account.

People delete their accounts for a myriad of reasons but one of them is as an emotional response to something. When something has happened at the other end of the internet there is nothing you can "do" physically .... but deleting your account is as close as you can get.

  • @CuddleDuncan. Hi Duncan 👋 Thanks for the link regarding what. One quick question: one cuddler I was talking to (this was a non pro), her account got "paused" then after that it said "deleted", Any insight on to what couldve happened there? She wasnt a pro so I was confused why her account got paused and then it later said deleted.

  • The one guy I cuddled with immediately deleted his account last year on my first account because during our session he tried putting his thing in my shorts. Then came back on another account. Deleted accounts are voluntary. In my case he knew what he did.

  • It may have been for an identity check. It's unsual but we sometimes need to check who somebody is. Deleted is, in principle, entirely unrelated. But that pattern could have been a fake user or scammer who killed the account when they realised it wasn't going anywhere.

@CozyCuddles23 Corrected as I confused pause with mute (wish I could do the slash-through the text). See @CuddleDuncan 's post.

  • @CuddleDuncan I see thank you for the clarification on that!

@Huggycatbear that isn't Pausing. That's Muting. See the link above for details.

I really hope you reported him anyway even if he quickly deleted. And especially if he immediately made a new account. Totally illegal here. The mods generally don’t know this is happening unless we report.

  • The Mods don't know anything unless you Report.

We get a few messages in saying, "I was warned for having X on my profile, but I see lots of others have it. Why are they allowed it and not me?" The answer is simply that nobody has Reported them yet.
