Respect My Time

I’ve noticed a pattern of people booking 1–2 weeks in advance and then canceling the day of.

Please understand this affects my schedule and availability for others. Moving forward, I may begin requiring a deposit to secure appointments.

I value reliability and mutual respect—if you book, please be ready to commit

@bianca106 I hate that! I know people flake for a lot of different reasons, including maybe they got cold feet. But if not communicated enough in advance, I write them off as I think it's a lack of consideration of your time. You could have blocked in someone else who would show up.

Especially when we all need to make a living.

I'm sorry this is happening to you!

Here is CC's policy on last minute cancellations:

Cuddle Comfort doesn't enforce an official cancellation policy, but we provide guidance that's part of the Client and Professional Cuddler contract:

Clients should pay half the session cost when canceling within 12 hours
Professionals should offer discounts to clients for their own last-minute cancellations
For prepaid rental spaces: The canceling party pays full rental cost when canceling within 24 hours
If someone owes you compensation, report the user so we can check their history. While we may not act on single incidents, patterns of unreliable behavior may result in account bans.

  • @Huggycatbear unfortunately there is no way for pros to enforce a late cancellation/no-show fee. Neither can the site enforce it, other than banning, which does not compensate the pro.
That is a large part of why so many do require meaningful deposits. Sure, it may limit the prospective client field, but it also ensures they're fairly compensated for lost time, overhead costs, and revenue.

@cuddlefaery nothing wrong with a deposit. I was going to share the same thing.

    It's a double-edged sword.

Might be worth it to filter out the riff-raff.

@bianca106 There's nothing wrong with requiring deposits, so long as they're reasonable. I've often sent modest deposits to pros to hold a booking. "Modest" meaning around $25-$30. These same pros tell me that having that small deposit requirement weeds out alot of the aforementioned riffraff.

I know that some pros require much more substantial deposits. I've never booked with one of them, so I couldn't relay any useful information on that.

@bianca106 I think that you can have your own rules regarding any booking as it's your valuable time. I think if someone wants to book an appointment, then they would have a plan already like once you book a flight to somewhere. According to that, I think you should ask for full amount right away, then if they want to cancel, it's their problem.

In addition to that, as they pay it all forward, they will change their plans to attend your session instead of canceling or doing something else as they have that motivation not to lose their money. And, if someone is serious about your appointment, they will not have a problem paying it all.

Personally, if I want to book an appointment for anything, I will pay right away before my appointment and it will be more comfortable for me.

  • Thats happened a few times to me as well. Had a cancelation today that was hours before the scheduled time and he blocked me when I showed him the 50% suggestion, on the site. I did report and left karma, which I didnt realize we could do until today. I declined other cuddles because of this appointment. Its very disrespectful, especially when the excuse was based on them NOT reading your profile or looking at your photos. I am sorry this has happened, definitely report them @bianca106

  • Agree, report them. They only get a warning the first couple of times they do it, but if it becomes a pattern, they can be banned for it.

@BlueIris I have had to cancel a few times because work plans changed. But I always reschedule. How do mods look at that? I don’t know if I have been reported for it as I reschedule and follow through but curious how much extenuating circumstances shape a mod’s decision. Granted, my cancellations haven’t been last minute other than being stuck in an airport for several hours because of a delay.

I feel really bad for cancelling and I’ve had to a few times for financial reasons but I try to give plenty of notice and I usually reschedule instead of outright cancelling. I think day of is really shitty.

  • @TheFunCartel We do look at extenuating circumstances and the past record of the person who was reported. It's unlikely anyone reported you or anyone else for canceling and rescheduling.
