What is the most thrilling thing you did?

This is when I went sky diving back in around 2002-2003. I can't believe I have never done it again since then. I'm considering it. Mile Hi Sky Diving in Longmont, CO now charges $237 for a tandem jump. The video package is $200 more. You're basically hiring another person to jump out of the plane with you.

[Defended] my co worker and since security and management were non existent, I had to do what I had to do to not let her get pounded by someone significantly stronger and bigger than her. Worth getting fired which thankfully I didn't because my job is a shitshow with massive turnover rates so they know they need me as I basically run the whole store doing everything. Without me, they'd be sol literally they will be in bad shape once I leave

  • Wow, sky diving is a no for me, but cool that you did it @Mike403

One of the most for me was going up in a hot air balloon over Napa and I didn’t realize I would get vertigo so badly. I spent the first 15 minutes sitting in the center of the gondola until I felt stable. Then it was A-Mazing from then on. The whole experience, wish I could do it again!

So many other thrills in my life, but also at the top would be the birth of my children!

  • Pretty awesome @Mike403

  • @markag
Interesting and brave but dangerous, glad you’re ok.
I witnessed a fight in a restaurant between 2 men, right next to my table and it was terrifying to me. Awful and hope to never see that again.

  • After reading the above example, I’m gonna say I’ve never done anything thrilling lol

  • I've never gone skydiving (the one time I really committed to it, we were rained out by a thunderstorm). I did go Bungee Jumping, which was pretty exhilarating.

  • I went snorkeling in Hawaii and it was marvelous. On the boat trip out to where we went snorkeling, we saw dolphins swimming in the ocean and leaping out of the water. It was thrilling to see the dolphins. It had been a dream of mine.

I prefer not to take chances that could end my life. For the adrenaline rush, at this stage, not worth it

  • I guess singing on stage a few times at conventions, even a bar on my birthday. Before this past March I sang Ozzy’s I Don’t Wanna (Stop)

  • I’ve climbed utility poles up to 25’. I follow the safety guidelines and use the safety equipment properly though. When you do this, it’s basically impossible to fall. The may be the most thrilling thing I’ve done lol

  • I’ve had such a wonderful life. Hard to pick just one.

    • flew a double engine private plane over the beach on long island

    • flew a helicopter in Atlanta

    • saw the twin pandas in Atlanta when they were smol but independent

    • certain flights and vacations in general have always been exciting

    • Atlanta again- telling jokes on a stage where I couldn’t see the audience; achievement unlocked!!!

    • doesn’t sound exciting and you need to be calm but my buddy taught me how to recycle shells and they worked great

I know what they say about helicopters dropping but I’d rather have one than a plane coz less scary to land when everything works haha

  • Eating kangaroo the same day as petting one to this day surprises me. Over 2 decades ago and that's just one of those crazy experiences.

Also my time on a party boat in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 was the most thrilling 3 hours I've ever had. Never been that high sober 🤩
A local 8 year old was my dance teacher the whole time 💃 good times

  • 1993 when I had the privilege of carrying the Olympic torch in my hometown on the 4th of July.. That was probably the most exciting thing I've ever done.

  • Digging a "fighting hole" with my e-tool while artillery was landing "CRUMP, CRUMP" out ahead of us (that WILL motivate you to dig fast!!).

@Jubal, well, I think we have a winner!

Losing control of my flash sports car in torrential rain on the Isle of Skye. There was a moment between, "So this is how I die" and, "Oh wait no it isn't" when I had some control; and that was absolutely magical.

Edit: I had forgotten that incident, even though I recently went through the times I nearly died. So thank you, OP.

  • I'll relate this story not in real time, but as I remember it.

I was driving on the interstate late at night. There was another car that was driving a little erratically which I had managed to pass, so I was keeping an eye on it in my rearview mirror. Suddenly, right in front of me was - I slammed on the brakes and swerved left to go around it - a deer. As I approached the deer, it occurred to me that deer are usually not alone, so I glanced at the median. Sure enough, there was another deer there, so I adjusted my course back closer to the first deer in case the second deer tried to cross. Then I finished passing the deer, time resumed normal speed, and I shook for the next 10 minutes from the massive adrenaline surge.

Subjective elapsed time: about 3 seconds. Actual elapsed time: I'm guessing about half a second. I'm not certain, but I think I was still going 40 when I finished going around the deer.

  • I would have to say it was getting to fly a P40 Warhawk.

  • Played defensive center in h.s. We were in the last game of the season playing an undefeated team. We won 80-0. The other part of the season. We were undefeated also. :) We were accused of running up the score. As it turned out, the coach played everyone except the cheerleaders. It was OUR night! Unforgettable. Many many years ago...

  • I had forgotten that incident, even though I recently went through the times I nearly died.

@CuddleDuncan Yeah, those moments of "oh shit, I almost bought the farm" are usually some of the most vivid and most memorable of our lives. For me, they're also usually the moments that I feel the most alive. I suspect that this is true of folks who enjoy things like skydiving or high-speed racing.

  • lol can somone explain to me how I post a video here?

  • @shecuddless - Upload it to YouTube then post the link.

  • @jonnyquest nice 👍GBA 🇺🇸

    . .

  • Probably traveling to Norway alone in the summer of 2022 to stay at the house of one of my musical heroes who goes by the stage name "The Commander in Chief" (musician, not an actual politician) for a singing retreat. Though my motivation was primarily to get to meet her and her family in person and be around everyday for 10 days. Still the retreat kept me busy and the jetlag kept me sleepy until around the day I went home and it started again lol. And definitely loved bonding with their giant schnauzer guard dog. They were surprised how quickly he took to me and wanted me to play fetch. Prior to that I had never gone on a vacation alone, and never to Europe. I had traveled with family to Canada, Mexico, and 2 South American countries when I was younger.

Other than that... maybe joining this site and meeting people?

  • Got divorced and went on a solo international trip. I cried daily that I was fortunate enough to have such an experience. It was Costa Rica. If you know YOU KNOW 🥰

  • 1) sky diving
    2) underwater cave diving in Florida
    3) shipwreck diving in Gulf of Mexico
    4) completing the Ride Across INdiana (RAIN Ride) in 10 hours (a 160 mile bicycle ride)

  • Thinking about this, I’d have to say my very first ever cuddle here was pretty “thrilling “ actually meaning almost but not quite terrifying! I’m sure I’m not the only one. When you think about jumping into bed to hug an almost stranger is a crazy idea but we take a leap of faith and do it.

  • Good thrilling: Snorkeling with large creatures in the wild. Sea turtles and manta rays. Low danger…high majesty. I’m adding new ones to my bucket list.

Bad thrilling: getting roofied…suspecting…feeling it coming on…jumping in an uber home, having no memory of how I made it but waking up in the morning safe, in my bed, unmolested

  • @VitaminJ snorkeling and sea turtles 🐢 sounds like fun! 😃 and getting roofied is awful ! I’m sorry that happened to you 😞 thank goodness you made it home safe ❤️
