@tristan406 thank you 🫂 while I wish all mothers and mother-figures a wonderful day of recognition for all the labor they do for us all - I also know how difficult this day can be for those with complex relationship histories or who have lost their mothers. This day has been bittersweet and and a big grief trigger for me the past 13 years. I hope those who struggle with this holiday for one reason or another take good care of themselves as well!

Wish I saw this earlier, but happy belated mother's day to all! I certainly did my best and think I achieved really making my mom happy this year, despite some struggles she is going through. It was a four pronged thing: 1. Got about 20 or 30 songs that I thought she might be able to relate to lyrically, narrowed it down to 8, sent them to her with links to each song and lyrics for each. I was surprised at the one she mentioned spoke to her the most, as I put it last thinking that she'd never like a Disturbed song (a reason to fight). 2. Got a mother's day card and took a long time writing a long heartfelt note that nearly filled the entire card. 3. Got her some pants and makeup remover wipes that she wanted. 4. Surprised her by learning "Don't Stop Believin'" and partially learning "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" on bass - both songs being by her favorite band Journey. I also recently got the bass so I had about a week to learn them. I got my brother who plays drums to back me up and play with me. She loved it and had us play twice.
We then had a nice time at my grandma's house for a bbq and some family time.

Mother's Day Sunday, I treated my mother and my son to annual Mother's Day Pow Wow over in Canton, GA! 😁
Mama enjoys Native American culture, plus she enjoyed it the first time we went many years ago. So we decided to go back again this year, we ate some fry bread, watched some dancing, walked and shopped around. Mama bought a beautiful fox pelt, it was really beautiful! 😍
