Ghosted by a pro cuddler

So, I was in brief communication with a pro.
I proposed a 1.5 cuddle session which she accepted.
After that she never responded back and obviously never showed up.

I've asked for an explanation but have yet to receive a response.
I've seen she has been on site since I requested an explanation.
And I reached out again saying I may have to leave a bad Karma if she doesn't respond.

Thoughts?

    Ghosting sucks in general and if it were another enthusiast, I'd say no. But as a pro, you have a responsibility to be communicative. If you later find out that it was a medical emergency or something like that, I'm sure you can go back and delete or edit your karma.

    I think technically we’re not supposed to leave karma unless we’ve had a session with someone, so it’s likely a bit of a grey area since she accepted but you didn’t message any further (she may have accepted by mistake) but it’s weird if she’s been active on here and still hasn’t responded.

    Hoping you didn’t give a deposit or anything like that. It’s inconsiderate not to reply but if there were no further messages about a session, I’d check with mods before leaving karma (not sure how strict they are about it).

    I’ve had the same thing happen to me, but by an amateur cuddler.

    She had no karma at the time so I was gonna be her first karma and I have multiple karma’s on my end so I think she must’ve just got shy or anxious because she deleted her profile after I sent the booking request.

    I would definitely leave bad karma that way other people know because this is a professional service and your time sir is valuable. Don’t hesitate do it now!

    Life happens. Do you really want to adversely affect what could be someone's primary way of earning income with a bad review? There are many more important things in life than you being ghosted for a reason you are not aware of.

    I do not want to adversely affect someone.
    I also do not want others being adversely affected by getting ghosted.

    Hence why I reached out to her.
    She has been active since I reached out.
    So, I reached out to her again.

    I am not listing her name.
    And I will not leave bad Karma if she responds appropriately.
    And I may possibly not post bad Karma at all.

    I would write negative Karma for last minute cancelations and no shows without a valid reason. Some examples of "without a valid reason" include, but are not limited to, they "just didn't feel like it" or "felt overwhelmed" or "something came up", or straight up ghosting. I believe in negative Karma for flakes. I don't give a rat's ass whether it's a pro or an enthusiast. I'm sick and tired of flakes.

    Now, an example of a valid cancelation would be "my daughter got into a car accident." And once a pro canceled last minute on me for that exact reason. Of course, I didn't write a negative Karma for that incident.

    Unfortunately this kind of thing is all too common, by clients as much as professionals. The possible reasons are legion, and it's not worth dwelling on. It is unlikely to be to do with you, but it is always worth reflecting on your behaviour just in case.

    As @cuddlebudbklyn has pointed out, Karma may be written only after meeting. If the meeting was virtual Karma is permitted, but ideally the virtual nature of the situation should be made clear. The key exception to this rule is if somebody no-shows with no message, in which case after a decent interval (say at least 24 hours) without a message, Karma may be written. Moderators have the power to edit and delete Karma so undisputed amendments can always be made later if it's absolutely essential.

    Whether this example 'counts' as a no-show depends on the subtleties of the situation .... there is a gray area when you know fine the person isn't going to show up, and you only show up yourself because you're there anyway (e.g. it's at your house).

    Karma must always be true, fair and polite.

    If you are having some kind of disagreement or dispute or are frustrated with somebody, do not identify them in the forum.

    I’ve left karma for people that have ghosted after we had a booking confirmed and they no showed because I didn’t want another pro to sit around for this person and not schedule someone else.It sucks to have your time wasted on either side of the pro/client dynamic.

    That being said I’ve also deleted karma if someone has responded and gave a good reason for not communicating sooner. I always appreciate seeing if someone has karma that has mentioned they were inconsiderate of someone else’s time in the past so I can accurately decide if I want to take a gamble on someone like that. Up to you on if you ever want to leave karma. Yes there is a rule that you should not leave karma unless you’ve met but seems like gray for ghosting.

    I'd say instead of leaving karma, which you can only do if you met, report the no-show. That way mods can track patterns. If it was an unfortunate one-off, then no harm done aside from frustration. If it's a habitual issue, the pro can have status removed or be banned 🤷🏻‍♀️

    @CuddleDuncan I once had to cancel last minute and I let the client know , it was an emergency with one of my kids.. he still left a negative karma 🤦‍♀️ 🤷‍♀️

    If you cancel long enough before the session that the other person will not have started their [reasonable] journey, then in general Karma may not be written. However there is another gray area if a cancellation message is sent at the last minute since it might not be received until the other person arrives.

    If Karma has been written inappropriately, you can Report it and ask for it to be removed. Similarly Karma that is not true, fair or polite.

    None of these guidelines are absolutely hard and fast - to some extent it always depends on circumstances because these are human interactions in a complex world.

    @123Cuddles321 when you say she accepted your request, do you mean she accepted the booking request you sent? And she never canceled the booking? That is odd behavior for a pro considering the site charges us 15 %. So if she didn't cancel, she's still paying the site for your session.

    Did it used to be ok to leave bad karma for no shows and last minute cancellations? Because I have seen so many pros leave bad karma for clients who canceled last minute or no showed. I think it's a lil much to leave 1 star for something like that. I feel the frustration as it happens to me all of the time. But 1 star reviews I seen always seem a lil dramatic when a session hasn't been had.

    @RebeccaKe She accepted the booking. She never canceled the booking. So yes… she will be charged commission.

    After she accepted the booking, I never heard from her again

    @MeltMyWay I believe you can leave Karma as long as a session is booked. Meaning I can leave Karma even though the session never happened.

    I have seen people leave bad Karma for no shows and last second cancellations.

    @123Cuddles321 sounds like it was never fully confirmed just proposed day and time were accepted. I'm sorry that happened. I completely feel your frustration...it happens so often.

    Maybe she lost her phone , or just not able to reach out for some reason ..,?? Not sure why a Pro would accept an appt and then ghost a client., she could have at least said she needed to reschedule .. I hope she is ok either way .

    Sometimes the site stays logged in through the phone even when the person is not actively online.. sorry you were ghosted 👻 and I also hope she is ok 😊

    That's happened to me twice with the same person.. I should have known something was up when she asked for a deposit and nowhere in her ad did she mention anything about a deposit.. So we agree on a time and day and on the day of the session she never shows up.. About an hour after our session was to have begun she text me and said she's sick, she would have called earlier but she just woke up and that we can reschedule for the following weekend. I said okay then the following weekend comes up and she's late again.. This time she text me that it's a family emergency but she promises to make up the session to me once everything gets taken care of.. I said forget it we're done have a nice life.. To her credit she did try to pay me back the money but by then I had deactivated my account taken down my cash app because I was just disgusted by the whole situation and took a break from cuddling in general..

    karma is karma . . . and this person deserves bad karma, so yes post . . . i don't buy into this only leave karma if you meet up crap . . . if someone deserves it, they deserve it . . . post away!!

    Life happens but you should communicate that you won't be able to make it. If I just dont show up for work when I'm scheduled, I'd be fired.

    I view Karma or any sort of review as a win win sort of thing, giving and receiving good reviews benefits everyone, which is in my best interest for sure. Anything else doesn't really benefit me as well as why would you want to hurt someones livelihood regardless of what happened.
